Volunteer Spotlight
Assistance League Volunteer Judy McKay

The Windy City's loss was Assistance League of St. Louis' gain when Judy McKay and her husband moved back to St. Louis after 30 years in the Chicago area.

"I have been very blessed and wanted to give back to the community, giving of my time and talents as well as financial help," shared Judy.

Judy joined Assistance League of St. Louis in 2015 and has volunteered for our Assistance League Outreach Program, Fantastic Finds Resale Store, Operation School Bell, Steps to Success, and Project ROSE.

She accepted the position of Project ROSE Vice Chair last year and will
serve as Chairman this year.
Assistance League Volunteers Celebrate National Assistance League Action Week at Mullanphy-Botanical Garden Elementary
National AL Action Week focuses on children's literacy and this year ALSTL Volunteers and Children's Author Micheal Anderson surprised 475 preschool through 5th-grade students at Mullanphy-Botanical Garden Elementary.

Volunteers dressed as beloved book characters, Pete the Cat, Thing One and Two, Clifford the Big Red Dog, and the Cat in the Hat. These characters brought the books to life while assisting the children in selecting two new books to take home.

20 Year Partnership - Still Running Strong!
A Heartfelt Thank You to Shoe Carnival
The partnership between our Steps to Success program and Shoe Carnival began over 20 years ago. Shoe Carnival has helped us provide shoes and socks to thousands of deserving St. Louis area children.
From the beginning, Shoe Carnival store managers have donated countless hours helping our volunteers pack, sort, label and distribute thousands of shoes.

A special thank you to Shoe Carnival store manager Katie Junge, who in recent years, has donated innumerable hours to Steps to Success.
