Greetings!

Since the last research update, IC3 researchers released an asynchronous distributed key generation protocol, studied MEV across multi-chain systems, announced a free cryptocurrency course, and more!
We are pleased to welcome Eswar Prasad to IC3's faculty! He is the Tolani Senior Professor of Trade Policy at Cornell, a Senior Fellow at The Brookings Institution, and a Research Associate at NBER. He previously collaborated on “Design choices for central bank digital currency: Policy and technical considerations” and his book “The Future of Money” is available now.
The Science of Blockchain Conference 2022 (SBC'22, formerly called the Stanford Blockchain Conference), held jointly by the Stanford Center for Blockchain Research and IC3, has been rescheduled. The new dates are August 29-31, 2022.
See more and register on the CBR Website.
NEW RESEARCH
The authors present BullShark, the first directed acyclic graph (DAG) based
Byzantine Fault tolerant (BFT) protocol that is optimized for partial synchrony.

The authors study the manifestation of Maximal Extractable Value (MEV, a generalization of “Miner Extractable Value”) across multi-chain systems.
Alexandre Obadia (Flashbots Research), Alejo Salles (Flashbots Research), Lakshman Sankar (Ethereum Foundation), Tarun Chitra (Gauntlet), Vaibhav Chellani (Movr Network), Philip Daian (Flashbots Research)

The authors present a simple and concretely efficient asynchronous distributed key generation (ADKG) protocol.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENTS
Patrick McCorry (Infura) will be leading a free Cryptocurrency course online (start date February 15th). While admission to the Zoom lectures is limited, it will stream to all interested. See more on the course website.
Recordings for all lectures from the 2021 DeFi MOOC are now available! You can find them linked on the course syllabus
Ariah Klages-Mundt (Cornell) wrote a summary of technical and economic security risks in DeFi for SCRF.
EVENTS
IC3 Partner Protocol Labs is hosting a "Decentralized Internet, Networks, Protocol, and Systems" workshop at ICDCS 2022!
Workshop submission deadline: March 5, 2022
