A Note From Anne...

January is in the books. I hope you were able to enjoy the post holiday time to get organized for the new year. Line up those UFOs and make a good stab at the to do list. We finally got some good news of the Jacquline deJong patterns, The Four Seasons. They have shipped and should arrive within the week. If you are interested in this 4 month paper piecing class don’t delay any longer. We want to start by the end of February. We are finalizing the dates now, and will post it soon.

We had extended the holiday pricing on the sewing machines because of all the bad weather. I am going to extend them a bit farther. I have heard that there will be a price increase across the board in the Spring and I want to give you all the opportunity to purchase wonderful machines at great prices. I just know that restocks are going to come in at a higher price point.

We have so many sales going on right now. Clearance is an additional 20% off, Christmas is 40% off, select pre-cuts are 25% off, Riley Blake Table Toppers are 30% off, Select short bolt Wide Backs are 20% off when you take the whole bolt, We have a wagon of short bolt batiks that are 25% off if you take the whole bolt or a minimum of 3 yards. And because it is February, Western fabrics for the Stock Show and Valentine fabrics are 20% off. Wow, that is a lot to pick from. Then there is the over 5,000 bolts of fabrics to tempt you. Beginning Quilting Class

Date: April 22nd, 29th, and May 6th and 13th.

Time: 11:30 am to 3pm

Cost: $80

Instructor: Cathy Koester

In this four-part class you will learn the basics of quilting while constructing a small baby quilt. You will leave this class knowing how to choose and use thread, needles, cutters and rules, and how to choose the best fabrics for your project. You will learn how to construct a nine patch and half square triangle blocks and how strip piecing makes block construction easy and fast! All of this is done while meeting new people and enjoying being a part of the quilt community in a small group. Space is limited so sign up soon! Only 8 seats available.

Free Motion Quilting on a Domestic Machine Class

Date: March 11, 2023

Time: 9:30 am to 12:30 pm

Cost: $25

Instructor: Cathy Koester

Learn to machine quilt on your home machine. If you have ever wanted to give machine quilting on your home machine a try, this is the class for you! You will learn how to set up your space, put your quilt sandwich together, and a number of quilting designs to stitch out. Machine Quilting Idea Book is recommended but not necessary to take the class.

Scrappy Log Cabin Quilt Class

Date: May 27, 2023

Time: 9:30 am to 3:00 pm

Cost: $30

Instructor: Cathy Koester

The Log Cabin quilt is a very traditional quilt. With it strong diagonal pattern, it lends itself to many settings. Let's change it up a bit and make it scrappy. A good way to use all our left over strips. We'll make it with 2 inch strips in light and dark fabric.

Jacqueline de Jonge Class

Paper piecing class for intermediate skill level. Each table runner finishes at 20"x60.5". Over the course of fourth months you will piece one of these beautiful table runners. But we guarantee you will want to make this beautiful runner in all four seasonal palettes. Melissa Grote will be teaching this class.

Strip Club News

Next Strip Club is February 18th

What an amazing January Strip Club! It was wonderful to see everyone after two months off. If you were unable to attend Strip Club check out the photos below to see all the great products we showcased from December and January.

If you are unfamiliar with Strip Club it is a great way to meet other quilters in our area.

We meet every 3rd Saturday of the month at 10am to see all the great products that have come in that month. We also have a show-and-tell time to see projects that people have completed and what quilt event would be complete without a few snacks thrown in? See you February 18th!

Machine Owners Classes

If you purchased your machine from Quilt Connection the classes are free.

There is a $40.00 charge if you purchased somewhere else and want the lessons.

There will still be some safety measures in place. We are limiting the class size to 4 people so everyone can feel comfortable.

Please bring your own machine. We can help you bring the machine into the shop if you need assistance and will carry the machine down and up the stairs for you.

Please do not take these classes out of order. You will get more out of the classes and learn a lot more it you take them in order. If your machine is not an embroidery machine and is sewing only you will need to take just the first two classes. We will be holding these classes every month, so if you have a conflict with a date, you will be able to catch up the following month.
