Opportunities for
Spiritual Growth & Reflection
This Monday: Eastertide Conversations about Faith:
Dialogue, Exploration, & Connection
3 Monday Evenings in the month of May, 7:00-8:30pm on Zoom, beginning this Monday, May 2nd!
Join us for small group conversations about faith and spiritual development. We will explore questions such as "How do you think Jesus' followers felt when they met him after he died and rose again?", and "If Jesus were here right now, what would you say to him?" Come join the conversation on Zoom (password = 20895)! Questions? Email grow@ccpk.org

Bible Study, Sunday Afternoons at 4:00 p.m.
Join us as we delve into the Minor Prophets, as they are known in the Hebrew scriptures. But their exhortations are minor by no means. These prophets most likely wrote after the fall of Jewish monarchy and they offer both harsh judgements of imperial corruption and comforting words of redemption. They have an interesting relevance for where we often find ourselves today! Drop in or come every week. In person in the library at church and on Zoom (password = Bible). If you have questions contact Lee Puricelli at leepuricelli@yahoo.com.

Monthly Mondays Racial & Social Justice Book Discussion – this month on Tuesday! Join us on May 10 (change of date from May 9) for our final conversation about The Church Cracked Open by Stephanie Spellers. We will meet on Zoom at 7:00 p.m., and for this final session the Racial & Social Justice committee will share what we've learned about the history of our Church and Race and seek your input and guidance as we prepare to take this information to the congregation.  Questions? Contact Cynthia Mitchell at justice@ccpk.org
Estate Planning Presentation, May 22

The Planned Giving and Endowment Committee of Christ Church invites you to a presentation regarding estate planning and Christ Church on May 22, 2022, directly after the 10:00 service.

David Lucas, an estate planning attorney will present an overview of what you should consider when contemplating your estate plan, followed by a question and answer session. Just information – no solicitation. Refreshments will be served, and bring a note pad to jot down information.

Questions? Contact Sarah Leung, rsmailtemp-PlantsFan@yahoo.com

Outreach Opportunities:
Helping Neighbors Near and Far
Support Ukraine
The Diocese recommends donations to two of many trusted providers: DirectRelief is sending medical supplies and other desperately needed items into Ukraine: https://www.directrelief.org/ and Smart Aid which is supporting refugees on the ground in Poland and Moldova https://www.smartaid.org
There are many organizations working in Ukraine and on the border, including Episcopal Relief & Development who is partnering with ACT Alliance to support refugees.
Help Arcola Elementary Families
In our ongoing partnership with Everymind at Arcola Elementary School, we've been informed of needs that some of the families have, including:
In addition to the items above, which can be dropped off at the church during office hours (Tuesday through Friday, 10-6) or on Sunday mornings, they are planning an Arcola Health and Wellness week for the students, including dental kits for the students to take home. Click Here for the Amazon wish list if you would like to donate dental hygiene items to be distributed May 23 to the students.
Prayers for Peace, Thursdays at Noon
There is a short prayer service every Thursday at noon, in person as well as on Zoom (password = 20895). We hope you will join us to pray for an end to the war in Ukraine and everywhere there is violent conflict. The service is approximately 15 minutes in length, and the sanctuary will be open before and after the service for private prayer.
In-Person Mask Policy Update as of April 10, 2022

As outlined in the April 8 email from the Regathering Committee, masks are still required when singing in our church services, or when in close proximity to young children. At all other times, mask wearing is strongly encouraged but not required.
Please click below to read more details about this update.  Thank you for helping us to move forward together with compassion and understanding for one another!
