Creative Ways to Get Through the Inventory Shortage
Low inventory has been an ongoing issue for the housing market, especially since 2008. The lack of new construction and investment has caused an estimated housing shortage of around 5.5 million houses since 2001. This, along with the decreasing affordability of houses, is creating a challenging issue for real estate agents and brokerages as they work to close deals among competitive offers.

The metro area experienced a 50% increase in active listings and a 72% increase in single-family home inventory for July 2021. There was a slight decrease in the median sale price to $723,750 in July 2022 from June 2022, which was $750,000.
