Hawk Week Event Spotlight:

Pathways to Service Scavenger Hunt

Join the KU Center for Service Learning for our

Third Annual Pathways to Service Scavenger Hunt!

Throughout Hawk Week, explore the service-related student organizations, offices, and activities available to you on campus and in the Lawrence community.

Between August 18 and 27, accomplish as many of our pre-determined "tasks" as you can to receive various levels of CSL promotional items. There will be featured activities and tasks each day, which will serve as opportunities to meet other students participating in the Scavenger Hunt as well as CSL staff and student leaders.

If you're interested in participating in volunteering, advocacy, and other forms of civic action, this program is a great way to familiarize yourself with the variety of opportunities available to you while geographically orienting yourself to campus and the community!

Student Support Highlight:

Community Service Capacity Awards

Funds are available to KU students to help address barriers and challenges to service participation and engagement with and in communities. Students who may experience barriers (e.g., transportation, childcare) or hardships (e.g., finances to purchase service project materials, missed days of work for service) in supporting community engagement and service activities may apply for a Community Service Capacity Award through the Center for Service Learning.

The CSCA is a need-based service award that may support an award of $300 or less based on the amount requested to address the level of need presented in the application. Accepting an award may impact any existing financial aid package. Before accepting this award, students are responsible for contacting the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships to determine how it may affect your total financial aid award package.
