The Arts & Cultural Alliance of Newport County is now accepting applications for the Tinney Family Arts Scholarship, The ACA Artist Award, and the Leroy White Soul and Conscience Award
TINNEY FAMILY ARTS SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is to be awarded to a graduating High School Senior who has demonstrated artistic talent and the ambition to strive for excellence.

LEROY WHITE SOUL AND CONSCIENCE AWARD
In partnership with the White Family, the ACA pleased to offer an award in honor of LeRoy White, to be given annually to a musician, of any age or situation, whose life and/or art contributes to and connects the community.

ACA ARTIST AWARDS
The ACA offers Artist Awards (up to $500) to support art projects that benefit our community. Projects can fall into any artistic genre category: fine arts, visual arts (illustration, graphic design, multimedia), performing arts, the literary arts (creative writing, poetry), music (performance, composing), theatre. Other artistic “sub-genres” may also be considered.

Introducing SBG's Visiting Artist, Jessica Shaffer
Jessica describes herself as outdoor enthusiast who has spent
most of her years tethered to the ocean.
In her high school years, she immersed herself in painting the natural
seascape / landscape in watercolor. In the past three years she has developed a passion for painting in oil.
We invite you to stop in to see her current work in oil created En Plein Air.
The exhibit is on view March 1 to April 30th. You can read more about Jessica and her work on our website.

Annual Chamber Music Concert

St. Peter’s by-the-Sea Episcopal Church,

The Chamber Music concert features Gloria from Gabrieli’s Sacrae Symphoniae, Serenade, Op. 7 by Richard Strauss, the Concerto for Two Violins in d minor, BWV 1043 by Johann Sebastian Bach, and Symphony No. 25 in g minor, K.183 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The Chamber Music concert is conducted by NaBSCO’s music director, Kristo Kondakçi.

Admission: Donations are happily accepted.  
Donations of non-perishable goods for the St. Peter’s Community Market are also appreciated.

Aquidneck Singers will perform "Nature Songs," including works by female composers Andrea Ramsey, Gwyneth Walker, Sarah Quartel, and Donna Rhodenizer plus familiar tunes such as Irving Berlin's "Blue Skies" and the Simon & Garfunkel fave "Bridge over troubled water."

CCNC is excited to present QUORUS, Newport's first LGBTQIA+ chorus, at their first public performance!

These mural paintings were all donated by the Gallery to Save the Bay Aquarium and Education Center on 1st Beach. They are all 3 moving down into the new Aquarium and will be installed there permanently.
HAPPY NATIONAL POETRY MONTH
Launched by the Academy of American Poets in April 1996, National Poetry Month is a special occasion that celebrates poets’ integral role in our culture and that poetry matters.

As a special offering this April, U.S. Poet Laureate Ada Limón has selected twenty new poems by contemporary poets to be featured in the Academy of American Poets’ Poem-a-Day series as part of a collaboration with the Library of Congress.
