The Resurrection of Christ is the greatest event in all of human history. It ultimately answers every question of the human heart and provides our only hope. People without Christ cannot possibly sense the living hope within those who do know Him. Even when we are discouraged, we know that in the end, God will succeed in His purpose for us and in His battle over evil and sin. And the final blow was struck against death when Jesus was raised on the third day from the tomb. God will win the victory against all enemies of His plan – even over the grave.
So let us not be fooled by earthly treasures or be taken in by the attractiveness of the world. These things are but pale shadows of a more real world yet to come. Eventually, we will have to leave everything and everyone behind, except for the person of God and His Kingdom. Someone else will snatch up our possessions. Someone else will even take over our space on the earth. Someone will receive all that we have left behind. May we rather leave behind a Christ-like witness that someone will receive along with Jesus as their Lord and Savior!
Therefore, there can be no better season than Easter to come into the house of the Lord - to worship Him and to demonstrate a Christian witness. The church has opened wide her doors for you and me. Let us be found within her walls not only for our sakes, but for the sake of others! Keep inviting others to your church and to the Lord. Those opportunities are here!
On Saturday at 11:00 AM, we will have our famous and fun-filled Easter Egg Hunt. On Palm Sunday, we will share communion and a message. On Maundy Thursday at 6:00 PM, we will worship and share The Lord’s Supper together along with a spaghetti meal. On Good Friday, we will pray in the church or wherever we are in remembrance of Jesus’ last hours (12-3) for us upon the cross. On Resurrection Sunday, (Easter) we will hear the Good News that He is risen! And we will answer back, “He is risen indeed!”
Whom do you know of that needs to share these experiences with you? I hope to meet them!

(Jose, his wife-Yendry, Nuemi, & Joselen)
|
|
A few years back, I had a bible study here at Jose & Yendry’s house in Fierro. Within this last month, I have returned to their house in order to continue giving bible studies with this wonderful family. Yendry used to be Catholic but through discipleship she has seen how the Catholic doctrine doesn’t match up with what we find in scripture. Both Jose and his wife Yendry are now Christians but Yendry can’t read which, unfortunately, is the case with many within the poorer villages in Costa Rica. Please pray for Jose and Yendry that they will continue to grow in the Lord and share their faith with the lost. Also, please pray for their kids Nuemi & Joselen that they will one day accept the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.

Over the years, it has been encouraging to see doña Rosa grow as a Christian. Rosa was converted from Catholicism to Christianity through the working of the Holy Spirit through discipleship. As Rosa heard the truths of the word of God, she began to understand what was truth & what was a lie. She then put what was the truth, according to scriptures, into practice and now puts the Word first as she listens to pastors preach throughout the week. In the picture above, Rosa is cooking down hard kernels of corn in that large pot in order to make handmade tortillas. BTW Rosa is an incredible chef! Please pray that Rosa will share with others what she has learned from the Word.

YOUNG LIFE OF
WEST ASHLEY
|
Each Monday evening in the Family Life Center @ 6:00
West Ashley YoungLife
Their Mission:
Introducing adolescents to Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their faith.
Working with the local church is important to Young Life:
Although congregations can minister in ways we can’t, Young Life has inroads in communities with kids who are disinterested in church. However, as Young Life staff and leaders care for these kids, we try to help them become lifelong followers of Jesus Christ who will one day be active in the life of a local church.
