Dear Parents,
Love was certainly in the air this week at Kids For Kids Academy. Our students had so many wonderful experiences related to Valentines Day. Everyone was so very excited to exchange Valentines. This time honored tradition was enjoyed by every class. I hope you enjoyed going though the bags with your child. Thank you to everyone who sent in Valentines as well as the families who sent in items for our Friendship Fruit Salad. So much fruit was sent in that the kids enjoyed it over 3 days! We still have 2 containers, if you did not have yours back, please claim it at the front door.
Also this week our students went on the Colgate Bright Smiles bus. They learned about the importance of good oral hygiene and those with permission had a chance sit in the dentist chair to have their teeth counted and assessed. You should have gotten a "report card" letting you know if a follow up to a dentist is suggested. Thank you do Oliver May's mom who is a dentist for volunteering on the bud. I know the kids also loved getting the goodie bags to take home too!
This week our VPK kids went to the science lab and learned about sinking and floating. Here is a link to 15 minutes of the lesson with Brown Door.

I hope you will enjoy it, it was very exciting to test all the things that sank and floated. Lots of other skills were practiced in this lesson like counting and letter sounds.
In case you missed it, there is a photo of a yellow T-shirt on the front board outside the school. We are adding a new shirt to the school uniform. For Fridays, now you have a choice of the current grey shirt or the new yellow one that says, "If you can be anything, be kind". If you wish to order one please sign up for the size you need. I think they are so cute that we will also order adult sizes for those who wish to match their kids.
Finally, please remember that we are closed on Monday in Observance of Presidents Day.
