Dear Parents,

With the events of last week behind us, this week seemed fairly uneventful!  


Some exciting news....For our participation hosting Student Apprentices in the pilot program with Miami Dade College, we received a $4000 grant to buy all new flooring for our classrooms. During COVID we got rid of all the carpets in the rooms and most of the rooms have little individual vinyl cushions. Next week we will be receiving new floor mats to cover our circle time and block areas. The classes are really excited about that!


Next week we should also be getting our new yellow Friday shirts. I ordered plenty of extras in case you did not sign up. Your child will be able to now have 2 choices for Friday shirts, the grey logo shirt or the yellow kindness shirt. Also over the summer, your child may wear the school T-Shirts all 5 days of the week if they wish.  I also ordered some adult sizes as some parents were wanting to spread our message of kindness!


With regard to fall, which starts August 14th, due to the rising cost of food, gloves, and to offset staff raises and maintain our high quality, there will be a slight 4-5% tuition increase. The other fees such as registration, supply, technology, and oral fee, will not increase.


We have saved spaces for the fall for all of our existing families as well as spaces for the families who have already let us know that they will return for Kindergarten, First, and Second Grade. Our K-2, VPK, Yellow, Red, and Blue classes are currently on a waiting list. If you know you will be moving, please let us know so we can welcome families off our wait list. We have a few spaces in Rainbow and Green for the fall. If you have another child or know someone who may need one of those spaces please let us know before they are gone.


All new families to our school will pay the annual registration fee of $250. All current families who will remain with us for the fall, your registration fee for AUGUST 2023 will be billed in 3 installments; $80 March 27th, $80 April 24, and $80 May 29th. Keep in mind the $240 registration fee is 1 per family not per child.


We will not have any openings in our summer camp for families who will not be returning for the fall so please plan accordingly. All students who are remaining for fall will be entitled to a 2 week summer vacation. If you let us know by May the 2 weeks you wish to be off, we will not bill you for those 2 weeks. Next week I will be releasing our fall 2023 calendar. You will get a link in Brightwheel.


Finally, please note a change to our current calendar.....Our school will be closed on August 10 and 11. August 10 and 11, the teachers will be preparing their classes for the fall school year and participating in professional development trainings as they "sharpen their saws" and prepare to welcome your child back to school. On Friday August 11th there will be an Open House for your to see the classrooms and get to know your child's teacher better. Families can sign up for time slots from 3:00-6:00 pm. I know this is far away, but I want to give you plenty of time to arrange childcare for those 2 days.


Finally, we will be open our regular hours March 20-24 when Public and Charter schools are closed for Spring Recess. On those dates, the kids in VPK and our K/1 class may attend camp but their attendance is optional as these are non instructional days.
