Parish Work Morning - Tomorrow

On Saturday April 1, we will have a parish work morning to get our building ready for Easter.

We have a lot of little projects that need to be done around the church to spruce it up and get ready for Easter (and to welcome visitors to Saint Mark’s).

We will gather at 9 am and divide up the projects. We will end at noon or when we finish the list of projects, whichever comes first.

There will be indoor work for sure. Outdoor work if the weather permits.

Pastor Vicki will bring donuts from the Goodie Shoppe as a reward for the workers.

The UA Library is having a Sustainability Fair that day. Bring your e-waste and paper to be shredded and plan on stopping by on your way home.

Supper Group - Tomorrow

April Supper Group will meet on Saturday, April 1st at 5 pm.  All adults, as well as children, are welcome. We will meet in the Church Parish Hall.

This is a Potluck Dinner with each household bringing a dish, usually appetizers, salads, soup, casseroles, and desserts (mocktails, wine or cocktails are optional). Our theme for April will be Family Heritage, bring a family favorite old or new. Please contact Gloria Wylie as to whether or not you plan to attend and what category your dish falls into. Thank you.

(gawylie@att.net or 614-738-1716)

FYI due to the Palm Sunday setup and the Culture & Artisans Fair on Sat. 5/6 we are moving our May Supper Group up one week to April 29th.

Easter Flowers

You can now contribute to purchasing the flowers for Easter Sunday. Your contribution can be in honor of someone in your life or in memory of someone who has died.

There are envelopes in the back of the church or you can use this form.

Flower donations must by in by Sunday April 2.

Note the change in time for Easter Day Services

incense will be used at the 11 a.m. service

Easter Egg Hunt

There will be an Easter Egg Hunt between the 9 & 11 am services on Easter Day. There will be separate areas for toddlers and older kids.

We need a little bit of help in two ways:

  1. A few youth or adults who are willing to come before the 9 am service and help to hide egs.
  2. A few youth and adults who can help oversee the actual hunt to help make sure that the kids stay safe.

If you are able to help please let Pastor Vicki know (rector@saintmarkscolumbus.org).

April Epistle

The April Epistle is on its way to your mailbox.

If yours hasn't arrived yet, you can find out about all the exciting things going on at Saint Mark's on the website.

If you want to be added to the Epistle mailing list let Melanie Jacobs, our office manager, now (officemanager@saintmarkscolumbus.org)

Faith At Home for the Easter Season

The Easter Season begins on Easter Sunday and runs through the Day of Pentecost.

Saint Mark's is offering 3 different things to help you deepen your spiritual life at home during this season.

  1. A brochure with Noonday prayer, if you want to add a daily prayer practice to your schedule.
  2. A series of theological reflections (one for each week) to read and think about.
  3. A service learning piece with activities to help raise awareness and help our neighbors. This year's focuses on hunger and food insecurity.

You can find digital copies of these on the Faith at Home page of the website. Hard copies will be in the arched bookcase in the parish hall beginning on Easter Sunday.

Upper Arlington State of the City Video

Upper Arlington City Manger, Steve Schoeny, is putting out the State of the City address as a series of videos. The first one talks about the Upper Arlington Community Survey and some of the ways UA tries to help keep the community connected.

You can watch the video on the City of Upper Arlington's YouTube channel.

Culture & Artisans Fair - May 6

In partnership with CRIS and supported by the Upper Arlington Community Relations Committee, Saint Mark's is hosting a Culture and Artisans Fair on Saturday May 6 from 10 to 3.

There will be arts & crafts from all over the world created by people new to the Central Ohio Community, along with food trucks, baked goods, music and fun.

We need some people to help with the fair. We are looking for set up & clean up help and also some people to make our guests feel welcome. You can sign up here.

If your home is on a good road for a yard sign or you know a good place for a poster let Joyce Acton, Brenda Hammersley or Pastor Vicki know.

UA Pride coming in June

Saint Mark's is a sponsor of Upper Arlington Pride for the second year this year.

Upper Arlington Pride will be Sunday June 11 from 1 to 5 pm.

Saint Mark's will have a table at the festival and will give out some Saint Mark's and Episcopal Church swag.

If you would like to contribute to our Pride swag, you can make a donation to the Rector's discretionary fund, either by check or through the on-line giving page.

Nursery

The nursery is staffed from 10:15 a.m. - Noon on Sunday mornings for children age 3 and under. Parents are invited to either drop off their children or to stay with them if they prefer.

If you have questions about the nursery, please contact either Julie Moll julied5.jm@gmail.com or Pastor Vicki - rector@saintmarkscolumbus.org

Sunday Worship Schedule

Should I wear a mask at church?

As long as Franklin County remains at low or medium community level of COVID spread, according to the CDC, masks will be optional.

Should we return to a high community level, masks will be required.

You can find the community level here.

We will continue to have masks available for those who wish to use them.
