City Celebrates Longtime Employee For Over 50 Years Of Service

Longtime employee Mr. William Ross was first hired by the City of Forest Park in 1966 and has held several positions within the Public Works Department, including laborer, refuse collector, truck driver and maintenance worker. For more than five decades, Mr. Ross has played an integral role when it comes to creating, cleaning and installing city signage near local right of ways, as well as helping to maintain streets used by local commuters and pedestrians. The City of Forest Park proudly recognizes Mr. Ross, a treasured employee who continues to serve as both a valued team member and beloved colleague.

Reminder: Updated Waste Collection Services For

Residential, Commercial Customers To Begin May 1

The Forest Park City Council approved a new contract with Waste Management (WM) that will go into effect May 1. Services outlined in the new agreement with WM include the collection and disposal of all solid, bulk and yard waste, as well as debris and recycling generated within city limits. Performance penalties that were added to the contract will also be enforced to assist with overall customer satisfaction.

Forest Park Municipal Elections Scheduled for November 7

The City of Forest Park will hold elections for city councilmembers of Wards 3, 4 and 5 on November 7, 2023. The qualifying fee is $432, and the qualifying dates will be announced later. If you are interested in running for city councilmember of one of these Wards, please contact the City Clerk’s office for more information at (404) 366-4720, ext. 322 or 325.


Recreation and Leisure Services Employee Retires After 14 Years

Sometimes, it’s so hard to say goodbye. A special thank you goes out to Catherine Smith, who for 14 years worked as a member of the city’s Recreation and Leisure Services Department. As she enters a happy retirement, we express our deepest appreciation for her extraordinary contributions to our community. We will certainly miss you, Catherine!
