Equine Assisted Psychotherapy is a therapeutic model developed by
EAGALA (The Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association) that
utilizes a collaborative approach incorporating a licensed Mental Health
Professional and a qualified Equine Specialist working together with horses and clients as equal partners in an experiential process that empowers life-changing outcomes. All work is performed on the ground (no riding involved) assisted by 1 or more horses. Through the use of metaphors, client have the chance to reflect, project, and make deep connections with how the horses are acting, and how that mirrors their journey, their emotions, or current obstacles in their life.
During this training we will focus on the structure and benefits of EAP with families and individuals and how it differs from office/talk therapy.
