JOIN US: Inaugural CONVERGENCE to Celebrate National Travel & Tourism Week
WED-FRI, MAY 10-12, 2023 | PARADISE VALLEY, MT
To recognize one of our state's leading industries, the Montana Chamber of Commerce will
celebrate National Travel & Tourism Week (#NTTW23), as well as tourism's intersection with the Film and Outdoor Recreation industries, as vehicles to harness the power of place as an economic driver at our Inaugural 'Convergence" on May 10-12, 2023.
The 'Convergence’ will celebrate National Travel & Tourism Week on its 40th Anniversary and its theme, 'Travel Forward' along with the U.S. Travel Association and industry partners from around the nation. To honor the resilience of the Greater Yellowstone and its Gateway Communities from Livingston to Gardiner, Cooke City/Silver Gate, and West Yellowstone, which were negatively impacted by the 500-year historic flooding event in early June 2022, we will host the inaugural event in the Paradise Valley. It is our intention for this to become an annual celebration to be held each year in a different location.
Friday, May 12 has us venturing via shuttles thanks to Yellowstone Forever into Yellowstone National Park from 10 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. for a Tour & Talk. We will see a modern marvel, the brand-new road between Gardiner and Mammoth Hot Springs, built in just four months, and hear the story of last year’s event and subsequent recovery efforts from members of the National Park Service including Superintendent Cameron "Cam" Sholly, Deputy Superintendent Mike Tranel, and Duane Bucac, Chief of Facility Management and Operations. The presentation will be held in the Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel upstairs conference area at 12:00 p.m. where lunch will be provided. Tours of the Lamar Valley inside the Park will be offered separately to those looking to extend their visit.
