PSAT & SAT Testing Next Week

vJz8j_V6QICeqtI_NdErug_thumb_8e62.jpg

Welcome back, Vikings! We hope everyone had a safe and relaxing spring recess. We are now well into the last quarter of the school year, and students should be well-prepared for their PSAT or SAT exams, which will be administered next week according to the grade-level-specific schedule below:

Wednesday, April 13

  • JuniorsToday our juniors will take the SAT. This will be an official, college-reportable exam, and the scores will be accepted by colleges and universities for admission and scholarships. Juniors should arrive by 7:30 a.m. to their assigned classroom. Testing is expected to be completed by 1:45 p.m.
  • Seniors — Seniors who have not yet taken the SAT will do so today, as it is a graduation requirement. They should arrive by 7:30 a.m. to their assigned classroom. Testing is expected to be completed by 1:45 p.m. Seniors who have already taken the SAT will not have classes today; instead, they are encouraged to use the day to complete applications or scholarships or to take a post-secondary tour.
  • Freshmen & Sophomores — Remote, asynchronous classes will be held today for these grade levels.

Thursday, April 14

  • Freshmen & SophomoresToday our freshmen and sophomores will take the PSAT, which is a preliminary SAT exam. They should arrive by 8:30 a.m. to their assigned classroom. Testing is expected to be completed by 12:30 p.m.
  • Juniors & Seniors — Remote, asynchronous classes will be held today for these grade levels.

Reminders: (1) Cell phones will not be permitted in the classrooms, hallways or bathrooms on testing days. (2) Students who have accommodations that allow for two days of testing will not have an asynchronous learning day. (3) Students will be emailed their room assignment for testing day. (4) Please bring your student ID, several No. 2 pencils and calculator to the test. (5) Be sure to get a good night's rest and eat a healthy breakfast — always — but especially on your testing day!

His latest episode tells the story of three enslaved men who decided early in the Civil War to escape Confederate lines and seek asylum at a Union fort.
