Spring is here and we are excited about upcoming events and partnerships at Making Changes and Dress for Success Calgary.


In March, we celebrated International Women's Day 2023 with full fervor and engagement with various stakeholders through events, programs, networking, and clothing drives. Read on for a full recap!

Wine Survivor 2023

REGISTRATION CLOSES ON APRIL 13, 2023


Our popular fundraiser is back! Register as an individual or create a team of six and join the fun for a chance to win an amazing selection of wine from Olympia Liquor. Proceeds raised will help empower women, those who identify as women, and teen girls in our community through programs and services.


Registration of $50 per person includes a $25 raffle ticket and $25 for the purchase of a bottle of wine on your behalf. Your donation for participating will be matched by up to 50% by Shaw Birdies for Kids presented by AltaLink. Spots are extremely limited!

We celebrated International Women's Day in recognition of the potential and achievements of women around the globe. It was an excellent opportunity to reflect on our work and its impact on women, those who identify as women, and teen girls in pursuit of professional and educational goals. Making Changes and Dress for Success Calgary participated in several events.

Making Changes participated in the "The Only One in the Room" event organized by DiliTrust Canada in support of Dress for Success Calgary, to kick off the week of International Women’s Day.

Plug and Play Alberta organized a

'Night of Networking with Women in Technology and Innovation'. Making Changes was the highlighted charity at the event.

Pembina Pipeline Corporation & WBM Technologies hosted "A Day in the Life" event for the students of the Women in Technology program with information on mentorship, technical interviewing skills, and professional headshots!

Field Safe Solutions hosted an Open House for Women in Technology students. The day included presentations by the Field Safe Solutions team and technical interview practice.

Making Changes participated in the 'Power of Voice Conference' organized by Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth, where we shared information about My Best Friend's Closet program. The event aims to help newcomer youth to develop a stronger understanding of voice, identity, and well-being.

Accenture organized a workshop for Women in Technology students on “Visualizing Success: Facing the Imposter!” The theme of the session was overcoming Imposter Syndrome and aimed at providing a safe space for important women-focused conversations and support.

Making Changes and Dress for Success Calgary participated in a job fair organized by Lifemark Vocational Services, where our team shared information on our programs with the attendees.

Women in Technology team attended the International Women’s Day celebration hosted by Toast, in collaboration with Chic Geek and the51. Proceeds from the event supported Making Changes Association.

We are extremely grateful for the incredible support from our generous community partners for organizing clothing drives to mark International Women's Day. We would like to thank the following for organizing the clothing drives:



The donations collected will help us in supporting women, those who identify as women, and teenage girls who wish to join the workforce or pursue educational goals. With your support, they gain confidence and feel ready to take on the next chapter of their lives!

Funding Announcement

We are pleased to announce that Dress for Success Calgary programming is being supported by HSBC! This funding will support the establishment of a Career Center with the necessary equipment to better assist our clients by providing guidance for job search, skill development, and personal coaching.


We are very grateful to HSBC for the funding that will ensure women and those who identify as women can have access to the technology needed for job search, financial independence, and an increased sense of belonging and contribution to their community.
