Memorial Day Closure

The Heart of Virginia Council Leadership Center and Scout Shop, located at 8090 Villa Park Drive in Henrico, will be CLOSED on Saturday, May 25th and Monday, May 27th in observance of the Memorial Day holiday. We will reopen on Tuesday, May 28th, with regular business hours.

Hampden-Sydney College Merit Badge Day and Wilderness First Aid Training: June 1st (Registration closes May 25th)

Do you have a High Adventure trip planned? Join your Scouts at the Hampden-Sydney College Merit Badge Day and take your required Wilderness First Aid Training! Thanks to the support and involvement of the college administration, faculty, staff and community, we are able to offer a great day and merit badges taught by qualified instructors. While your Scouts are busy, you have opportunities to take Wilderness First Aid and to participate in a 3-mile hike!

Donate Your Time at Deep Run Day Camp:

June 10th - 14th

Day Camp is a magical time for Cub Scouts, full of new experiences and friendships. It is also a ton of fun for the teenage Scouts and adults who volunteer their time to help make the magic happen. Many hands make light work, and we could use some extra hands helping out at Day Camp. Specifically, your hands. Day Camp will be held June 10-14 from 9 AM to 4 PM. Our Cub Scouts will appreciate your help, whether it’s at fishing, crafts, archery, BB’s, sports, or nature/STEM. [Volunteer!]

Summer Camp Swim Test Opportunity: June 2nd

Troops, Crews and Posts - are you coming out to Camp this summer and want to get your swim tests out of the way? Come on out on Sunday, June 2nd, and we will test individuals and entire units throughout the day. The cost is $5 per participant, to cover the cost of our BSA / Red Cross certified lifeguards. Participants must register to attend! Registration closes on Monday, May 27th!

Did you know that Spielberg is an Eagle Scout? His 2022 movie, the Fabelmans, is a semi-autobiographical drama based on his childhood, and includes many references to his time in Scouting. Learn more!
