Morning Star School Mission Statement

Rooted in the Gospel and strengthened by the sacraments, the mission of Morning Star School is to provide a unique, inspiring education empowering students with learning differences to achieve their full potential.
Dear Morning Star Friends and Families,
We are very proud of our brother and sister team, Kolbe and Makaley, who are making yellow and blue pins to help support the Ukrainian people during this difficult time. The pins are for sale to fellow students for $1.00 each and all funds raised will go to Catholic Charities.

Fundraising activities, whether it’s for school or another worthy cause, teach children valuable skills that will serve them now and in the future. There are several essential skills children learn when they actively participate in a fundraiser.

The Importance of Giving:
Studies show that children who are exposed to situations where helping others is the goal, in turn, become giving adults. Fundraising activities teach children to think outside themselves and work for the benefit of others.

Communication Skills:
Children learn to communicate effectively; speak to others in a friendly and clear manner; and develop reasoning skills as they ask for donations or sell items.

Goal Setting:
Children engaged in fundraising activities learn the importance of reaching goals and get a hands-on experience of what it means to meet deadlines.

Customer Service:
Children who sell fundraising items learn enough about their product to answer questions and solve problems that arise before and after the sale.

Attention to Details:
Detailed record keeping is critical for sales-oriented fundraising activities.

God Bless,
Elaine Shott, Principal
