Hello Faithful Friends,
We have worked faithfully and met weekly for more than six months. The experience has been heartening in many ways, and we have felt your prayers. That said, we have reached the point in the process where we are experiencing fatigue, and we know that we are in need of a spiritual reset for the journey ahead.
You should know that we have a strong list of qualified potential candidates; however, there’s an equal list of qualified potential candidates that we have not been able to engage for one reason or another.
We came into this month very hopeful and excited to begin engaging with potential associate pastor candidates, however, a variety of obstacles have been discouraging and led to some weariness in our work. We remain hopeful and consistent while trusting God to lead us through this process.
Even with recent obstacles, our committee remains blessed with individual strengths and personalities that are the perfect ingredients for a faithful and successful APNC. When fatigue begins to set in, it is important to pause and focus on fellowship and relationships. After collective discernment, we have decided to take the next week off to spend quality time together as a team where we won’t talk about the search and solely focus on each other’s company.
We know that God has an amazing candidate in store for us, and we want to be in the healthiest state to meet, get to know, and call that person to service at Idlewild. This time of respite will help ensure that we have resilience in the rest of our work together.
