A weekly e-newsletter from JFS of Middlesex County

JFS is a non-profit social services agency serving all members of the community from all backgrounds. Your generous support enables us to provide crucial programs for those in need.

"Thank you! I'm very grateful to JFS and how you never forget me at Passover." - Mrs. F., recipient of a Passover gift card

With your support, JFS is working hard, up to the last minute, to ensure that families have what they need to celebrate Passover. Our goal is to enable families and homebound seniors to observe their traditions and enjoy the holiday. Our staff and volunteers have been hard at work distributing Passover meals to homebound seniors in our Kosher Meals on Wheels program, mailing grocery store gift cards for the Passover holiday, and packing food bags for families visiting our Kosher Food Pantries. Donations made are tax-deductible and are an impactful way to support those in need while also honoring the traditions and values of liberty, resilience, and charity that Passover commemorates.

Thanks to your generosity, we have already helped hundreds of local families prepare for the holiday – but there are still more requesting assistance. Please help us ensure that everyone on our list is able to fill their Passover table. We greatly appreciate your donation

Supporting Your Child Against Bullying

Bullying is a serious issue that affects many children and can have long-lasting negative impacts on their mental health and well-being. As a parent, it's important to have open and honest conversations with your children about bullying and how to prevent it. The first step toward talking to your child about bullying is to ask them how they have encountered bullying in their life. Whether they have seen, experienced or even participated in bullying, engaging them in open communication helps create a safe and non-judgmental environment for them to express their feelings and experiences.

Discussing the types of bullying, including physical, verbal and cyberbullying and what do to when they encounter bullying, can help your child build confidence in speaking up against bullying. It's important to teach your child how to be assertive by helping them practice how to stand up for themselves and others. It's important to take bullying seriously and to seek help if your child is being bullied. Early intervention can help prevent long-term negative effects on mental health. Parents, teachers and other adults can work together to create a safe and supportive environment for children and to help them develop positive coping skills.

Help Our Pantries Bloom

Spring is here and what better way to celebrate the season than by purchasing a beautiful bouquet of flowers to brighten your day or someone else’s? For every bouquet labeled Bloomin' 4 Good purchased at the East Brunswick Stop & Shop (647 Route 18 South), $1 will be donated to JFS Kosher Food Pantries.

Show your love and appreciation to that special someone or show some self-love while also supporting JFS Kosher Food Pantries. If can’t purchase flowers, we welcome donations of non-perishable food, or you can donate online. Thank you for your continued support!
