The Falcon Flyer - Website Edition

March 24, 2023

stay connected_720x254.jpg

Dear Rondout Families, Faculty and Friends,

We had a wonderful week filled with learning, spirit activities and fun. Today’s volleyball games were a great way to come together before kicking off Spring Break.

Thanks to the 8th graders who were our fabulous storytellers at Bedtime Stories Night yesterday. We got quite a bit of positive feedback and we will be looking to build on this year’s experience for next year.

We had a great town meeting today and heard from all of our Village Departments. Look for more updates in next month’s Falcon Flyers.

Please complete the quick survey about how you would like to receive your registration materials for the 23-24 school year so we can personalize the process for your family. We have a digital or a paper version. Registration will kick off after Spring Break and paperwork will be due by mid April. Fees will not be due until June 1st.

The building will be closed during break to accommodate on-going work, repairs, HVAC and security upgrades. The office team will be available from 8 to 2 p.m. if you need to reach us.

Hoping you all have a wonderful Spring Break. We look forward to everyone returning re-energized for a strong finish to the school year.

Until next time... Take care...

Dr. Jenny Wojcik

Superintendent

Ms. Elizabeth Davis

Principal

Student vs Staff Volleyball Game

Thanks to Mr. Williams for his leadership in making the Student vs Staff Volleyball Game a huge success. This tradition for the 7th and 8th graders is always memorable. 7th grade defeated the staff but the staff won against the 8th graders.

Click here to place your spirit wear order no later then May 1st, 2023. Orders will be delivered to Rondout the week of 5/15/2023.

The Sustainability Department thanks you for your milk jug donations.

Thanks to those who have sent in your clean empty gallon milk jugs. The empty milk jug collection has begun and go through at least the Friday before Spring Break. We need "a lot" of milk jugs so check with your family, friends and neighbors. Please feel free to contact us if you have questions.

Special Seniors Day Returns to Rondout!

Mark your calendars for Friday, April 28th!

For one day each spring, the population at Rondout doubles. That day, we open the doors and welcome special guests for Special Seniors Day, an event that recognizes and celebrates the special relationships and interactions between generations, and the desire for multigenerational interaction as part of our children’s education. The goal of the program is to give students a chance to bond with their special guest at school.

The event is a collaboration between the PTSA and teachers, school administration, and the community. Proud grandparents, aunts, uncles, godparents and family friends have flown in from as far away as Los Angeles. Parents play a critical role in Special Senior’s Day (see below).  Because of this, parents are encouraged to find someone other than themselves, but if they want to be special guests, that’s OK.

RSVP Early!

We want to personalize this event as much as possible!  To do that, we need to capture the names of each Special Guest visiting Rondout.  There are 2 ways you can RSVP:

  • Electronically, through an e-invitation - Invitations were emailed to Rondout families on Friday, February 17th. In case the invite went to your spam, here is the URL: https://www.punchbowl.com/parties/7232fd1b275fed322817
  • Paper RSVP, via Backpack Mail - Fill out the RSVP form attached to the Falcon Flyer and send it to school in your child’s backpack.

Parents/Volunteers Needed!

This is a shout out to all Rondout parents, nannies and friends who could spare an hour of their day on Friday, April 28th.  We need help in all areas/aspects of this event. There is something for everyone to contribute on Special Seniors Day. Volunteer now by clicking below.
