Dear Families,
Last year, we talked about “Precepts of the Catholic Church”, which are a description of the absolute minimum actions required of Catholics regarding practicing their faith. You can find them
here. We also talked about the “Precepts of St. Louise” which are the minimum requirements of our students in all grades, pre-kindergarten through eight. Due to a desire for advancing school spirit and strengthening one’s virtues, students should typically try to do far more than what the precepts minimally require.
The precepts we instill with our St. Louise community are:
1. You shall make prayer a part of your day.
2. You shall care about others as shown by using kind words, apologizing when needed, and greeting adults.
3. You shall walk quietly, keep to the right-side, and line up orderly.
4. You shall keep your desk, locker, and classroom clean and tidy.
5. You shall dress with decorum and follow uniform policies, committing yourself to neatness and school unity.
The precepts are such an integral part of each child/student at St. Louise, and we are fortunate to have great students that are able to display the above Precepts.
Along with the precepts of St. Louise, I would like to point out a section in the Parent Handbook that were added at the beginning of the school year called Community Expectations. You may find them on page 21-22
HERE.
The St. Louise School community is made up of school faculty and families who are committed to work in partnership to live out the parent/student/teacher relationship so as to build a respectful, loving educational and faith community. The parent/student/teacher relationship helps us all remember that through good times and tough times we have a commitment to each other to walk a journey of faith, trust, respect, and hope, guided by the Lord. The following are the expectations each member in this partnership agrees to uphold.
Each week, I will be highlighting an expectation of students from the community expectations section and sharing them with the students and staff during Monday announcements. I'll also share this special expectation in the parent bulletin on Thursdays. Please look over the Community Expectations and the expectations of students and parents and discuss these expectations with your children and family. I will be going over the teacher expectations at the next faculty meeting. My goal is that, as a St. Louise community, we follow the precepts of the Catholic Church, precepts of St. Louise, and community expectations. That is why we have wonderful students, staff, faculty, and parents at St. Louise School.
New Cameras in the 6th,7th, and 8th Grade Locker Bays
For added security in our school, we have installed cameras in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade locker bays. The school staff and 6th-8th grade students have been informed about the new cameras.
