"New battle lines are forming in yet another clash between those who want technology to advance and solve human problems and those who fear doom and want to stop progress. This time it’s not a debate about population growth or nuclear power or genetically modified foods, it’s a debate about artificial intelligence." LINK

Amy Li has served as a Board member for Humanity+ since 2010 to 2023. As a Board member, she co-organized multiple conferences, such as Humanity+@CalTech, was mentioned in a TIME cover story “Humanity+@Beijing” the 1st Humanity+ conference in China, was featured in major Chinese media and now she takes on a role as an executive creative Advisor for Humanity+.
Currently, Amy serves on the American Psychological Association COVID-19 task force and was recently chosen as one of the first two Asian women leaders nationwide for the Cultural of Health Leadership Institute for Racial Healing, a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation program. Here is her profile. She is a UX and behavior strategy expert in innovation and AI for Yahoo, AT&T, VW, and Sony. Her work earned AT&T multiple patents and was featured in The NY Times, NBC, Yahoo!, and Gizmodo.
Amy was diagnosed with rare Stage IV cancer at the prime of life while studying at Singularity University at NASA. Puzzled at how she went from marathon runner to cancer patient within a year, Amy researched stress and investigated nano-biosensors + music for stress management. Hoping for respite from stress, anxiety, and loneliness, Amy rekindled her childhood love of music/dance/art, accelerated her recovery, and astonished her doctors and care team. She promptly abandoned her cushy corporate career, using her extensive behavior design background supporting AI research to create the award-winning Dance4Healing.
Dance4Healing is a patent-pending "telehealth" platform that pairs people with chronic diseases, older adults, and their caregivers, with compatible buddies to build lasting healthy habits through tailor-made recorded and live video creative arts classes (imagine YouTube, Zoom, and eHarmony for health buddies). Dance4Healing has won >20 awards, including AARP's CES Annual Pitch "People's Choice Award", and was one of the top 10 Diversity & Inclusion startups to exhibit at CES 2023, where they launched a study funded by the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities, and is currently recruiting patients and seeking AI scientist and WebRTC developer to join the team. The GETS conference is premised on the belief that there is much to be learned and shared from and across the governance experience and proposals for various rapidly emerging new technologies. It is a truly interdisciplinary conference of scientists, lawyers, regulators, philosophers, ethicists, and more.
