March 2023
During Women's History month, we shine a light on all women veterans. It's important to acknowledge the contributions and sacrifices of women veterans throughout history. Women have served in the military since the Revolutionary War, yet their contributions have often been overlooked or minimized.

During World War II, women served in the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC), which was later renamed the Women's Army Corps (WAC). These women worked in a variety of roles, including clerical work, motor pool maintenance, and medical care. They were instrumental in the war effort and helped pave the way for future generations of women in the military.

Women veterans have also served as leaders in their communities, advocating for veterans' rights and supporting their fellow veterans.

Deborah E. proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for eight years. She came to VOC to participate in our art therapy program. Now, Deborah frequently takes part in our veteran art open house every Saturday. Because of the sacrifices of women veterans like Deborah, our country remains free and strong. Thank you to all women veterans who took the oath and defended our freedoms. The world is a better place because of your contributions.
Our mission is to serve veterans with compassion and advocate for all who have worn our nation’s uniform so they can RISE and live life to the fullest.
