Save the Date: September 16 for Movie Night and Dog Walk/Adoption

Thank you to everyone who voted in our Movie Night Poll. It was a close call, but the winning movie was Sing 2, receiving 57 of the 152 votes cast. It was followed closely by The Bad Guys with 45 votes, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 with 32 votes, and Space Jam: A New Legacy with 18 votes.


We're also partnering with Miami-Dade Animal Services to have a dog walk before the movie is shown. Some of the cuties up for adoption will be strutting their stuff and attendees will be able to adopt a pooch on the spot. A few more event highlights:

  • 6 PM: Dog Walk Begins
  • 7:30 PM: Movie Begins (Sing 2)
  • FREE Admission and free popcorn (while supplies last)
  • Food trucks on site
  • Bring your lawn chairs and blankets

Cutler Bay Charity Golf Tournament Raises $11,490 for Local Non-Profit Organizations

Thank you to all who took part in our 14th Annual Cutler Bay Open Charity Golf Tournament at the Redland Golf and Country Club on Saturday August 14. Through your participation and contribution, we raised $11,490 for the Cutler Bay Community Fund.

This tournament is one of the biggest contributors to the Cutler Bay Community Fund—which we established to provide grants to local nonprofit organizations that service and help improve Cutler Bay.

Compete for a Small Business Grant

Does your small business have a positive impact on Miami-Dade County? Apply online for the BizUp Grant, brought to you by County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and County Commissioner Jean Monestime.

Submit a five-minute pre-recorded pitch for a chance to be awarded up to $100,000 and 12 months of technical assistance, sponsored by StartUp FIU Local and Bank of America, Applications accepted now through Aug. 28.

Qualifying businesses must:
  • Be registered in Miami-Dade County
  • Have a minimum of one year and maximum of five years in business
  • Have minimum of 51 percent ownership lives in Miami-Dade
  • Have a positive community impact
  • Industries: Tech companies, construction, food, retail & wholesale, service providers

Meet Town Council Members-Elect, Remember to Vote for Mayor on November 8

The qualifying period for Cutler Bay’s 2022 Elections has ended and two of the three vacant offices had candidates that were unopposed.

Congratulations to Council Member BJ Duncan (incumbent) and Richard Ramirez (both pictured) who will fill the Town of Cutler Bay Council Member Offices of Seat 1 and Seat 3, respectively, once the 2022 General Elections are certified in November and they are sworn in. Richard Ramirez will fill the seat that is currently occupied by Council Member Roger Coriat, who has served since 2014 and will reach term limits.

There are two qualified candidates for the seat of Mayor, however, so please remember to vote in the November 8 General Election! The candidates running for the seat of Mayor in Cutler Bay are:

Register for our After School Care Program at Cutler Ridge Park

Our After School Program at Cutler Ridge Park is accepting applications for the 2022-23 school year for students entering kindergarten to fifth grade.

The program provides academic assistance, literacy development, social skills training and physical fitness in an environment where children can safely explore, discover and grow. Program follows Miami-Dade County Public Schools Calendar.

FEES
  • Monthly fee: $25 per child (September 2022-May 2023)
  • One-time Registration fee: $100 per child/$50 per sibling (non refundable)
2022-23 Budget Workshops/Hearings

The Town Council held two budget workshops for fiscal year 2022-23, which you may watch now on our Facebook page.

A 3rd budget workshop and two budget hearings are scheduled for September to set the Town budget and millage rate for fiscal year 2022-23, which begins October 1.
