July Library News

Hello July!

There's lots to do at the library this summer. We have programs for all ages.


Try your hand at watercolor painting, or learn French. And our Tuesday children's programs run all summer. Meet us outside for stories and fun.

The Little Silver Library will be closed Thursday, July 4 in honor of Independence Day.

Adult Special Events

French Lessons (6 weeks)

Mondays,

4:30 - 5:30 pm

Native French speaker Nathalie Decker returns to the library with a 6-week French language course. Classes start Monday, July 8 and run through August 12.


Familiarity with French is helpful, but not necessary.


Registration is not required.

Watercolor Painting with Carol Bruno

Thursday, July 18

1:00 - 3:00 pm

OR

Friday, July 19

10:30 am - 12:30 pm

No experience is needed for our watercolor class with Carol Bruno. Beginners are encouraged to sign up for this very popular class!

Movie Matinees: "Jaws" & "Arthur the King"

Join us in the library to celebrate the 50th anniversary of this classic summer blockbuster...if you dare.

Free Math Tutoring in the Library

Little Silver resident Ashwin Kolli-Johnson, a rising sophomore at High Technology HS, has volunteered to share his math expertise.

Children's Programming

Tuesday Storytime

Meet us outside every Tuesday morning for storytime! Programs will be held on the borough lawn (weather permitting). Bring a towel or blanket to sit on!


Join us inside for crafts and other activities. Storytime will move inside for inclement weather.



Fish Friends Plush

Join the fun with Noah's Ark Workshop, and make an adorable plush fish friend to take home!

Creative Drama Workshop

Non-Fiction/History Book Club

The Non-Fiction/History Book Club is reading “The Private Lives of the Impressionists,” by Sue Roe.


The group will discuss the book at their next meeting on Monday, July 15 at 6:30 pm.

Stop by our booksale table and check out the bargain books! They're a steal at just $1 for hardcover and 25 cents for paperbacks. All children's books are just 25 cents.

Museum Passes

Beat the heat and visit a museum!


Through the generosity of the Friends of the Little Silver Library, we have museum passes to many "cool" museums in NY and NJ.


Library passes are available first-come, first-served, and quantities are limited.
