Hello Friends,

We have two very important announcements to make that will definitely affect your dogs' visits to Born to Run. I couldn't decide which was more important, so I am presenting them to you "side-by-side." One involves a week-long closure, the other introduces you to the newest improvement to our play-yard. We are very excited about both announcements and look forward to hearing your feedback.

As always, thank you for your continued support. We love having your dogs visit us!

Tailwags,

Vacation Time

While you took your summer vacations, we enjoyed caring for your dogs and loved hearing about your wonderful trips. Some of you visited mountains, some visited the ocean, some went out of the country. So much fun!

Now it is time for the BTR staff to enjoy some vacation time.

There will be no daycare on Friday, 9/8/23, due to irrigation flooding the yards.

In addition, we will be closed from Monday, 9/11/23 and remain closed through Friday, 9/15/23.

There will be no daycare that week and there will be no dogs spending the night with us during that week. The dogs who are spending the night with us on Sunday, 9/10/23 will have to picked up by noon on Monday, 9/11.

Our dedicated staff works incredibly hard every day to keep your dogs safe and make sure that they are having the time of their lives. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation while we take some time to enjoy our own R&R.

While we aren't very active on facebook "yet", please check us out. The more followers we get, the more motivated we are to make new posts!

Swimming Pool Fun

Over the summer, we "took the plunge" and made the investment into a large above-ground swimming pool for our human and dog friends to enjoy! I'm sure we all know the benefits of non-weight-bearing exercise for us and our dogs as well as how refreshing a swim will be during our hot temperatures. Not to mention how fun it will be!

We installed the pool under a tree so that it stays in the shade, allowing us to enjoy it without worrying about sunburn. And guess what? Because the pool is under a tree, we get to enjoy cool and refreshing water. While clients are telling us their pools are above 90 degrees, our pool never got above 83.

The pool measures 26' x 13' and is 4' deep, making it almost 11,000 gallons of fun. The pool manufacturer is the same company who makes the pools you see used in dock-diving competitions. It is a saltwater pool, meaning we use very little chlorine in it so that our skin and hair aren't dried out and our eyes aren't red and burning. While there is a ladder in and out of the pool for humans to use, we also built a dock with a ramp into and out of the pool for the dogs to use. We are very excited about it!

The pool is fenced off separately from the rest of our play yard. Dogs will always be supervised when in the pool area and in the pool. We have a variety of life vests for the dogs who are learning to swim to wear. There are also many floats, rafts, and toys for the dogs and people to play with and relax on while in the pool.

The pool is ready to use and we are now building a really large deck for the humans to enjoy.

You can see the installation progress of the pool by clicking the link below. Also below, you can find the "Swimming Waiver" to fill out for your dog. If your dog is an active guest at BTR, please get that back to us as soon as possible, regardless if you think your dog will want to or be able to join in on the swim sessions.
