City Operations
The next City Council meeting will be in person on Monday, February 7 at 7:30pm, following the Council Committee of the Whole meeting that will begin at 6:30pm. The meetings will continue to be streamed live can be accessed on the City’s YouTube channel. The agenda can be found on the City's website. Tax Season Begins
Cleveland Heights municipal income tax is collected by the Regional Income Tax Agency, also known as R.I.T.A. RITA’s electronic filing is now accepting submissions. Citizens can visit ritaohio.com to file Tax Year 2021 individual returns and exemptions. Filing Deadline for 2021 municipal income tax returns is Monday, April 18, 2022.

Cain Park Festival Applications
Cain Park is accepting applications for the 2022 Cain Park Arts Festival, which is scheduled to take place July 8-10, 2022. Application deadline is March 4.

Meet Your Police on February 3
Residents have the opportunity to interact with a ranking member of the Cleveland Heights Police Department on the first and third Thursday of every month. Officers will be available to meet at the Cleveland Heights Police Academy at 2595 Noble Rd. from 6pm to 8pm. Visit the website for details.
COVID-19
Free COVID-19 Tests
Every home in the United States is eligible to order four (4) free at-home COVID-19 rapid tests. The tests are completely free and will be delivered via USPS. To order your COVID-19 rapid tests visit covidtests.gov.
 
Heights Libraries Reopen
Heights Libraries have reopened their facilities to the public for regular service with limited hours: Monday through Friday 10am to 6pm, Saturday 9am to 5pm, and Sunday 1pm to 5pm. These new adjusted hours will continue until further notice. Curbside service is available for those who request it. More updates can be found by visiting heightslibrary.org.

FutureHeights Neighborhoods Grants
FutureHeights is offering small grants to grassroots or neighborhood groups in Cleveland Heights that have ideas for creative solutions, projects, and programs that build on and enhance existing assets in their neighborhoods. Grants of up to $1,000 to citizen-led neighborhood projects, events, and activities are available. Applications for the spring round of grant-making are due by 5pm on Monday, March 15. Apply to Spring Neighborhood Leadership Workshop Series
Cleveland Heights residents who care about their neighborhood and want to gain skills and resources to take action where they live are invited to apply for the spring leadership workshop series. Those interested in working on a project seeking a FutureHeights Neighborhood Mini-Grant are particularly encouraged to participate in this multidisciplinary leadership development program sponsored by FutureHeights. Applications are due by February 18 at midnight.
 
Vote for your Favorite Local Business
Residents can show their appreciation for locally owned, independent businesses by voting for their favorites in the FutureHeights 2022 Best of the Heights Awards contest. Each ballot will be entered for a chance to win one of four prize packages of gift certificates (each worth a minimum of $250) from local businesses purchased by FutureHeights. Popular categories are included from previous years as well as new categories that recognize the innovation and perseverance of local entrepreneurs such as Best “Made-It-Easy” Online Ordering and Best Pandemic-Safe Dining. Residents can vote online or by using the paper ballot inside the January and February print issues of the Heights Observer. Voting concludes February 15 and winners will be announced in the April issue of the Heights Observer
