The Annual Meeting for the 272nd year of Saint Paul’s Church will be after the 11:00 service this Sunday, January 30 (the Commemoration of the Conversion of Saint Paul, transferred). The meeting will be held in person, with a zoom stream available for observing remotely. At the meeting we will elect a new senior warden and vestry members, hear important reports about our life and ministry together, and look again at the Strategic Plan.
In more normal times, the Feast of our patron saint with the Annual Meeting would be one of the most important days of the liturgical year. But in these most challenging days of the pandemic, we are not able to celebrate or deliberate in quite the ways we are used to. This enforced reduction of the Annual Meeting, however, will have good effects. Partially because we cannot deliberate as we would like on one special day, we can commit to ongoing engagement with questions of who we are and how we order our common life throughout the year.
2022 will be a crucial year in our history. We are not now the people we were two years ago. Nor are we yet the people we will be ten years from now. The prayer and conversations we have now are the bridge between who we have been and who we are called to become, in service to God in the CSRA and the world. The vestry and parish have already started some of those conversations in the month of January. I hope you’ll join us as they continue this Sunday at noon, but even more I hope that you’ll keep engaging in them throughout this year. God is at work even now in our lives and in our neighborhood. The internal work we are doing this year is always to enable us to join that divine work.

Saint Paul's Nursery is OPEN

We are pleased to announce that the Saint Paul’s nursey has reopened for children 6 months to 4 years of age. The nursery will be available on Sunday mornings beginning at 9:30 a.m. to allow parents to attend formation. If you have any questions about the nursey, please contact the parish office. Miss Connie and Miss Jenna are all VERY EXCITED to welcome you back! |

Godly Play (grades PK - 1st)

ALL children inherently know God, but it is up to us to give them the language of the Christian faith so they can grow to make meaning of our faith in their own lives. Godly Play is a profound method rooted in Montessori principles that forms child spirituality by attending to their natural gifts for wonder and discovery. Children are greeted at the door of the Godly Play room by the "door person." It is VERY important for parents to respect the boundary of the door threshold by not entering the children's sacred space--their Godly Play room. We cannot wait to welcome your children each Sunday!

Our older children will again immerse themselves in SPARK, where they will work with the same themes and Scripture that we all encounter in common worship. Every lesson follows a four-part pattern: Gather, Open the Bible, Activate Faith, and Send. Week after week, the children and their leaders gather together, explore the Scriptures, enjoy one another's company, pray, and discover God's presence in their midst.

Compline is a beautiful, simple, and quiet service to end the day together in prayer with God. This service is led by members of the parish using an on-screen bulletin so everyone may pray together.
Following the prayers, those who gather through Zoom have an opportunity for a mid-week visit.

In 1849, French writer Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Karr wrote “plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose“ meaning “the more things change, the more they stay the same….” This is an apt quote as we read and study Biblical texts as they relate to current reality for women in 2022. The Daughters of the King will present a four-part series for Christian Formation during Epiphany, February 6, 13, 20, and 27th at 9:30 AM. More information will follow in Postings. |

Forward Day by Day Available |
The new Day by Day issue for February, March, and April has arrived and is available in the Narthex. If you would like to have one mailed to you, please contact Hannah in the parish office. Forward Day by Day is a booklet of daily, "page-a-day," inspirational meditations each reflecting on a specific Bible passage from the daily lectionary readings of the Episcopal Church. The meditations are rich in substance and offer a wide range of witness and experiences. These meditations are also available online on the Forward Movement website.

February 20 is an open Sunday for altar flowers. If anyone would kindly like to sponsor one of these Sundays in honor or memory of someone or “many” someones please contact the parish office. The normal charge is a minimum of $100. What a lovely way to remember or honor someone and contribute to the Flower Guild at the same time. COVID-19 Vaccine Registration |
Eligible individuals, including those ages 5 and older, can now register to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Registration must be completed in advance on the AU Health website.
South Carolina residents who are eligible can also register to receive the vaccine at Aiken Technical College through the AU Health website.
