Dear Friends of The Blue Purl,

What is your cure for a hangover?

Wait, what are you thinking? We are not talking about a booze hangover. We are talking a wool hangover!

Oh, you may not have thought about it, but after more than a week of wool-inspired reverie, what else might you call it?

NJWoolWalk was a big success. We met so many new people and got to see many of those who have long been part of our growing community. We shared stories, learned a bit more about each other and got to experience so much wool! It was wonderful, made us giddy, and now….. the hangover.

What to do with that pile of wool you brought home?

If you have projects in mind, great, you are on your way. But if you don’t, here is what we suggest: Sit with it for a while. Don’t rush in. Think about what you want to make. Think about how you might want to push yourself to learn something new. Don’t force an answer. Just sit with it...

Look, there is a lot to what we do to become good knitters. It is a project of the head and the heart and the hands. It is about self-improvement and creation. It is about sharing. And like life in general, sometimes, we need to slow down and just be.

The answer to your quandary will emerge when we turn off the autopilot that thrusts us through our days.

If you think we can help, please let us know. We care deeply about every single member of our community, those who have just arrived, and those who have been with us, had faith in us, for a time. The Blue Purl Team has tons of experience and are here because they love this craft and enjoy working with you all, too.

You might also consider taking a class. Join us and your fellow artisans as we learn new ways to create beautiful objects with all that fine wool you brought home.

Whatever your cure is for that hangover: quiet contemplation or a fab hands on class, we are here to help.

Oh, and there's that ice bag on the basset hound's head below :)

We are soooo in this together.

New Things We Love
Peach Fuzz
Melanie Berg's new Peach Fuzz is designed in Woolfolk Far and has a special story - in her own words:

This design is a very personal one for me.

It’s about beating cancer, about inching back into a normal life after finishing therapy, about regaining strength, confidence - and hair!

I love that peach fuzz, and while I think it looks funny, I’m just totally embracing it.

This sweater could not possibly have any other name, and the Woolfolk Yarn I used is simply perfect for it: Soft as soft can be!
Tamy Gore's latest: Desert Sun
If you visited us during NJWoolWalk you know how gorgeous Tamy Gore's shawls are - Well, she just released Desert Sun and it's 15% off now on Ravelry!
Grapefruit Pink Lady
Thea Coleman aka Baby Cocktails just came out with this sweet vest/top Grapefruit Pink Lady. It's worsted weight and we think it would be fab in O-Wool or Creative Linen for warmer weather!
Spring Bloom Mitts
More O-Wool... Spring Bloom Mitts, London Loop's Rachel Atkinson designed this free pattern which uses only 1 skein of O-Wool O-Wash Worsted. Just pretty.)
