Dear Parents and Guardians of the Class of 2028,

Where has time gone? It seemed like yesterday the sixth grade advisors were welcoming students to the Middle School. The end of the school year is rapidly approaching, and we are excited to announce an entire week (beginning May 17th) of planned activities and field trips. During that week, each day will feature a different activity.

Tuesday, May 17: In the morning, sixth-graders will travel to the YMCA’s Camp Kern for a day of outdoor education. Participation waivers will be emailed soon. Please note that we will return to school between 4:45-5:00 p.m. When we return to school, students may be picked up in the bus circle and the adjacent parking lot.

Wednesday, May 18: The sixth grade will be hosting its Business Fair. Details can be found in the April 23rd letter sent from Ms. Castle and Mrs. Krabill.

Thursday, May 19: Students will board buses in the morning and travel to Star Lanes for some bowling and laughs. Later in the afternoon, the class will travel over to Top Golf for a science lesson about inertia, lunch (included) and some golfing fun. We will return to school before regular dismissal.

Friday, May 20: Students will board buses in the morning and travel to the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium for some challenges, collaborative activities and animal fun. We will eat lunch (included) and return to school by regular dismissal.

All of the sixth grade advisors will accompany the students throughout the week. The cost of these trips is priced at $80 per student. This fee covers all transportation, admission fees and meals throughout all of the weekly activities. This charge will be billed through our business office, and you will see it on an upcoming statement. If the additional cost of these trips is concerning to you, please reach out to Mr. Arnold.

There is one more exciting event that you should place on your calendar. The annual Naval Project will be held on the morning of June 1st. More information about this event to come.

On behalf of the sixth grade team, I look forward to a wonderful, fun week with your children!

Sincerely,

Matthew J. Carter
