Hello Everyone:

In the coming weeks, the Tyson poultry plant in Noel, Missouri will be closing. As a result, nearly 1,500 people will be out of work very soon.
We want to reach out to these folks and let them know about job opportunities in Grove.
To do that, we need to know if your business has job openings, how many, and the qualifications a candidate would need to meet to apply.
I spoke with the McDonald County Chamber Director Monday. He said they will be having a second job fair for the Tyson employees on Thursday, September 28th from 4:00pm – 6:00pm at the Noel Elementary School – and we are welcome to attend.
They had more than 30 businesses represented at their first job fair, and he is expecting an even larger turnout this time. If you would like to represent your business at that job fair, let me know and I will send you the information you need.
If you can’t be there, but want to have your business represented, Connie and I will have a station set up at the job fair. Please get us the information, packets, or brochures you would like displayed, and we will display those at our station.
Here at the Chamber, we are working to establish an ongoing and current list of job openings in our area. As we get closer to putting the job listing page online, we’ll let you know how to get your job listings included.
Please let us know if you will be attending the job fair (September 28th in Noel) or if you’d like us to take information about your openings with us. We need to get a Grove attendance count to the McDonald County folks as soon as possible.

Thank you –

Laura Huckabee,
Grove Area Chamber President
