Filmmaker Derek Hankerson Gives Free Lecture at FAU Davie Campus
 

Professor and filmmaker Derek Hankerson will be giving a lecture and showing his film about the role the city of St. Augustine, Florida, played in garnering national support for the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
Hosted by the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute on Tuesday, April 25, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the FAU Davie Campus’s Liberal Arts building, room LA-139, the lecture will also be available via Zoom.

Jaffe Center Names Illustrator Maria Surducan the 2023 Salzberg Resident

Each year the Jaffe Center for Book Arts chooses an individual for The Helen M. Salzberg Artist in Residence Program, which funds a working residency for one academic year at Florida Atlantic University.
Maria is an illustrator and comic book author in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. For her Salzberg Residency, she aims to shine a light on the therapeutic power of fairy tales in the current ecological, political, and economic context.
