It’s time to choose the next recipient of the Excellence in Service Award! The purpose of the award is to promote a greater appreciation of APT and Civil Service employees: "For exhibiting dedication and tenacity in an ever-changing world while upholding and maintaining high standards of excellence on the job."

Let's honor their outstanding service to the college! The award will consist of a framed "Excellence in Service" certificate, recognition on a perpetual plaque, and a monetary stipend.

The nominee must be a member of the full-time permanent APT or civil service staff of UHMC with at least three years of service at UH Maui College and must not have been a prior recipient of this award. Here is a list of eligible personnel for the current year award.

ACKNOWLEDGE KINDNESS

As our Culinary Arts Program faculty and staff “inspire their students and celebrate the diversity of food and cultures throughout the world,” they are offering an opportunity to acknowledge the many kindnesses we see happening every day on our campus!

Nominate a college faculty, staff, or student you observe perform an act of kindness. They will be acknowledged for their kindness and eligible to be randomly selected to receive a delectable lunch from the Paniolo Grill.

Our very deserving winner in Week 18 is April Furst!

April Furst, Senior Unit Clerical, Sodexo Campus Services - April and Kevin work for Sodexo and Doug at Paina Bldg., they are all amazing and so willing to help customers from making sure we picked up our food orders during takeout service, informing customers of Paina operating hours/schedule, collecting our $$, providing a bag if we have too much food to carry.  They are simply kind, outstanding and very customer service oriented to our UHMC Ohana.  Doug is also so accommodating of our campus's needs with hosting events such as Job Fair dates using Paina Bldg.  Likewise, Mike Asami is so quick and efficient with the ins/outs of Paina Bldg. equipment, cleaning, setting up tables, and coordinating the details as we are thankful for having a well-kept manicured building.  We appreciate you all and thank you for being our colleagues :) Juli

Also, acknowledged for their kindness are: Kevin Ageno, Douglas Paul and Mike Asami!

Mahalo, April, Kevin, Douglas and Mike!
