Easter Baskets of Blessings
Grace Lutheran is collecting baskets for the annual Easter Baskets of Blessings that will be given to the York County Council on Aging members. These baskets should be filled with some of the following items; healthy snacks (applesauce, crackers, sugar free candy, granola bars etc) and toiletry/personal need products (lotions, shampoo, deodorant, wipes, toothpaste etc.) Feel free to add in extras as you see fit. You will need to place all the items in a basket or useful container (storage container, laundry basket etc), wrap them carefully to secure all products (clear cellophane works great), and attach a tag to the top of the basket with the person's name, gender, and route number clearly written.Click HERE to sign up. All baskets should be brought to the church Fellowship Hall NO LATER than Sunday, April 3. Thank you in advance for your contributions!
As the war against Ukraine continues, many of us are asking "What can we do?" Lutheran Disaster Response, an ELCA organization which coordinates with other crisis response groups, invites us to consider some options.

Lutheran Disaster Response: Eastern Europe Crisis Response

On Feb. 24, Russian forces invaded Ukraine, launching land, sea and air attacks. Airports are now shut, and few railway lines are operational. Millions of civilians fleeing the violence are heading toward Ukraine’s western districts and such neighboring countries as Poland, Moldova, Slovakia, Romania and Hungary. Over 300 civilians have been killed in the conflict so far, and damage to civilian infrastructure has left hundreds of thousands of people without water or electricity. Ukrainian men of military age (18-60) are forbidden to leave the country, so most of those fleeing the violence are women and children. According to one report of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, more than 1 million people are seeking refuge in neighboring countries including Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Moldova. There are major humanitarian concerns for both internally displaced people and refugees. Many of these Ukrainians fleeing their homes need shelter and such basic necessities as food, water and toiletries. Care for people also includes pastoral and psychological support to address the trauma they’ve endured.

Lutheran Disaster Response is accompanying our companions in Ukraine, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia, as well as such ecumenical partners as Lutheran World Federation and Church World Service, in their humanitarian responses to the crisis. These partners provide refugees with immediate support and supplies such as food, blankets, water and hygiene kits. Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton has joined other religious leaders from Europe and around the globe in issuing an interfaith call for peace in the region.

What you can do:
Pray: Please pray for those in Ukraine, Russia, and neighboring countries that have been affected by the crisis in Ukraine. May God's healing presence give them peace and hope in their time of need.

Give: Your gifts designated for “Eastern Europe Crisis Response” will be used entirely (100%) to provide support for people impacted by conflict in the region. Click HERE to give.
New Adult Sunday School Option - Conversation Class!

We now have a fourth option for adults during the Sunday School hour! Youth & Family has kicked off a 'conversation class' for those who would like to spend time together talking about the day's gospel reading, current events, and whatever else is on your mind and impacting your faith.

This class is based on weekly conversation materials, so if you miss a Sunday, you can jump right back in without missing a beat. Each Sunday is a fresh conversation with those who able to be there.

You do not have to be currently raising kids to be part of this class, though this is a great place to connect with other kid-raisers if you are.

Join us Sunday mornings at 10am in Room 108!

Thank you to those who have participated in this partnership, and to all Grace members for supporting our Outreach Partnership Grant Program!
