Behold, I am doing a new thing;
now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

Spiritual Emphasis Week/Holy Week
April 11-14
NVCA is grateful to God for the many blessings He has given us to help fulfill our mission. With a highly increased number of students now on our roster warranting plans for additional facilities, we are reminded, especially during this season, how "God makes all things new." Since the start at our current location, God has blessed us with new students, new families, new staff, and many new programs.
We are also thankful for the wonderful Christ-like hearts of our staff who love each student with Christ's love and daily integrate biblical truths with their teaching.

MINI CHAPELS
Students attended "mini chapels" each morning during Holy Week. Our third- through fifth-grade elementary students presented the following stories from the Gospels.
- Third grade: "A Most Unusual Parade," the triumphant entry of Jesus according to Luke 19:28–44.
- Fourth grade (Ms. Chunn's class): "Victory at Sea," the story of Jesus walking on water based on Matthew 14:22–33.
- Fourth grade (Ms. Ebert's class): "The Stoning of Stephen," the story as told in Acts 6:8–15.
- Fifth grade (Mr. Molina's class): "What's for Lunch?", how Jesus fed the 5,000 based on Mark 6:30–44 and John 6:1–13).
- Fifth grade (Ms. Timm's class): "A Feast to Remember," the wedding feast and miracle of water into wine according to John 2:1–11.

A Record-Breaking Year at the NVCA Auction and Dinner
BY MELISSA BAKER, DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
A heartfelt "thank-you" to everyone who volunteered, donated, sponsored, purchased tickets, and placed bids at our annual auction and dinner event—Coming Together, Succeeding Together—presented by Futurity First (John and Nancy Ball, NVCA Parents). Because of your incredible support, this year was our most successful yet, with 450 guests contributing $354,000 to our educational ministry. Many blessings will come from this year’s event:
- $70,000 will directly bless our classrooms with the tools that our teachers need;
- The playground will be finished; and
- We plan on breaking ground on the new building next fall.
So much can be accomplished when we come together. Thank you, NVCA family. We hope to see you again next year! Save the date—March 31, 2023.
Please show some LOVE for our Premier 2022 Auction and Dinner Sponsors and our INCREDIBLE auction committee that made this year possible.

Exciting New STEM Program
|
|
|
NVCA and Robotics League
High school and middle school STEM students are anticipating competing in a robotics league beginning next fall. This is a new opportunity for STEM students to become familiar with robotics, which includes building chassis, understanding how sensors work, and programming.
Currently in STEM, our high school students are working with Vex V5 robots that can run autonomously while driven by a student. Middle school students are working with LEGO Spike Prime robots. Students will program these robots to run completely autonomously for competitions.
Mr. Meier is working with robotics leagues to set up our participation in competitions during the next school year. Thank you, Mr. Meier.

First-Ever NVCA Unified Sports Game
|
|
|
The Competition Was Fierce Yet So Much Fun!
NVCA Athletics hosted its first Unified Sports event on March 23. Students from our B.E.S.T. program played alongside NVCA basketball players and competed in one of the most exciting games we've ever watched. More than 500 students and staff took every seat in the bleachers leaving standing room only. Everyone enthusiastically cheered on the teams.
Bringing together all of NVCA's students reflects our mission to develop students who aspire to excellence to impact our communities, including those with varied challenges and abilities. During this season we are also reminded that Jesus includes everyone no matter their individuality.
We even made the news in print and on television! Please see more about this special event at the following links:

New Sports, New Skills, New Challenges
HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL
Our talented baseball athletes are learning the ins and outs of the game as they train and compete as NVCA's first-ever high-school baseball team.
Under the direction of Tim Gast, Head Coach, and Rylan Collins, Assistant Coach, our baseball players are pitching and swinging their best. Here's what Coach Gast had to say about the team:
"In our inaugural high school season, our boys have jumped straight to the varsity level of competition. A group of 13 boys has committed to paving the way for the future of Lions baseball. Midway through the season, we continue to improve and build upon opportunities to grow as competitors and young Christian men. With just six games remaining, the Lions are hungry to finish the season strong!"

DRIVING TO WIN AT GOLF
Our high school golfers have the drive for what it takes and won their match on April 5, against Antelope Union, Mountainside, and Bagdad. The team posted their best scores of the season during that match.
Our newly formed middle-school golf team is working hard to learn the game and looking forward to playing in more matches next year.
MIDDLE SCHOOL HOOPSTERS
Our middle-school basketball teams are more than halfway through the season. We expect both A Boys and A Girls teams to attend the playoffs the end of this month.
We are celebrating all of this year's athletics achievements and winding down the year with a hearty—GO LIONS!
