Mississippi ranks number 9 in the production of blueberries in the United States. 

There are approximately 2,700 acres of land in Mississippi used in blueberry production. 

The majority of blueberries are grown in the lower half of Mississippi.

The #MSFarmersMarket will host an array of vendors from across the state Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Each vendor will have a variety of fresh products for you to chose from. The following products are just a few that will be available. 

Vegetables
Acorn squash, Arugula, Fresh  Blueberries,  Beets,  Bell Peppers,  Boiled Peanuts, Bok Choi, Broccoli,  Cabbage,  Carrots,  Cayenne Peppers, Cauliflower,  Collard Greens, Celery, Chard, Cucumbers, English Peas,  Eggplant, Fava Greens, 
Garlic,  Ginger,  Green Onions,  Kale,  Kohlrabi, Lettuce, Mache,  Mustard Greens,  New Potatoes,   Radishes,  Rape,  Salad Greens, Scallop Squash, Shallots,  Shiitake M ushrooms, 
Spinach,  Strawberries,  Sweet Potatoes,  Swiss Chard,  Tomatoes,  Turmeric, Turnip Greens, 
Turnip Roots and Yellow Onions.

Protein
Grass-fed Beef, Grain-fed Beef, Fresh Pork, Free-range Eggs, Lamb, Seafood, Milk and Cheese.

Specialty 
Jams, Jellies, Soup Mix, Bread, Honey, Cookies, Cakes and Candies.


  
From the Market to Your Table
Blueberry Sausage Breakfast - 

¾ pound pork sausage
2 cups plain all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. baking soda
½ cup butter
½ cup sugar
¼ cup sugar, brown
2 large eggs
8 oz sour cream
1 cup blueberries
½ cup pecans, chopped

Day before serving: Cook sausage and drain well. In a separate bowl, stir together flour, baking powder and baking soda.
In large mixing bowl, beat butter until fluffy. Add sugars and beat until well-blended.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.
Alternate adding flour mixture and sour cream to creamed ingredients; mix well.
Fold in sausage and berries. Pour batter into ungreased 13"x9"x2" baking pan
Sprinkle pecans on top. Refrigerate overnight.
Preheat oven to 350. Bake 35-40 minutes, until done. Cool on wire rack.
