Tulip Festival Tent Shift & Pie Sign-up - For ALL Families
The OC Tulip Festival is just 6 weeks away and the final details for this upcoming fundraiser are coming together! Support from every OCCS family is needed to make this large event successful each year. Tent work shifts and pie signups will take place at Signup.com. Mark your calendars for online shift signups on April 19 and April 21. A list of jobs/tent shifts will be included in next week's Home Bulletin. The signup for Tent shifts will start with DOUBLE SHIFT signups from 6:30-7:00pm on Tuesday April 19. Single Shift signups will be from 7:00-8:30pm Tuesday April 19 and from 6:30-8:30pm on Thursday, April 21.

Double Shift Signups: If you are willing to work at least two tent shifts, you can sign up early for double shifts. You are able to work both shifts yourself or join with your spouse or friend and sign up early to choose the shifts you want. (One of the Double shift workers must be a Tiger PAWS parent, and the second can be yourself or your spouse or non-OCCS parent to qualify for this incentive.)

To help in your planning, you can view the shifts at
(https://signup.com/go/Bwaewtc), but you will not be able to sign up until the site opens.

Unless your family is a chairperson on the Tent, Soup, Pig, or Straatmarket committees or the Tiger PAWS treasurer; an adult member from your family is asked to work a shift at the Tent and bring 3 pies. You may hire a high school student to work your shift, but high schoolers are only allowed to work certain shifts and jobs (noted on the site). Once those spots are filled, a substitute must be a qualified adult. The school office will send links and instructions to all OCCS families at the signup times. Watch for those during the week of April 11. Please email occsmonica@gmail.com with any questions.

Pies: A customer favorite at the Tent is our great selection of homemade pies! Each OCCS family working at the tent will need to sign up for 3 pies on the same day that you will be working your shift. Reminder to SOUP, PIG and STRAATMARKET chairmen you are still required to sign up to bring pies. Please sign up to bring 3 pies on signup.com on the same day you plan to work. Bring cooled pies, covered in saran wrap and labeled with the type of pie, to the pie trailer the morning of your scheduled shift. If you prefer not to bake your own pies, you may contact one of these bakers for hire:
Becky Scholten 722-2736 (any flavor)
Michelle Bomgaars (Piece of Cake) 541-6046 (any flavor)

Please contact Leianna Hellinga atleiannahellinga@gmail.com if you would like to be added to the baker list.

April Theme: Love

April Verse: John 13:34-35
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

April Hymn: How Deep the Father’s Love For Us

1 How deep the Father’s love for us,
How vast beyond all measure,
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure.
How great the pain of searing loss –
The Father turns His face away,
As wounds which mar the Chosen One
Bring many sons to glory.

2 Behold the man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders;
Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers.
It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished;
His dying breath has brought me life –
I know that it is finished.

3 I will not boast in anything,
No gifts, no power, no wisdom;
But I will boast in Jesus Christ,
His death and resurrection.
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer;
But this I know with all my heart –
His wounds have paid my ransom.
100 Year Celebration
