My administration, as well as City Council, has been working diligently to finalize our 2023 budget. I am pleased with the continued efforts and cooperation from all of these individuals, as our income tax numbers have shifted due to the increase in remote work. A complete breakdown of the city's revenues and expenses will be shared in my section of the spring City Newsletter, which will land in resident mailboxes mid-March.
Other projects my staff and I have been working on and preparing for are the renovation of our 40+ year old Police and Fire department buildings. Additionally, we are working on installing updated fiber and internet components at the Municipal Complex. This long overdue upgrade will allow us the ability to connect at a more consistent pace, enabling staff to work as efficiently as they can without a failed connection. We are also finalizing our road work for this year, which includes some unfinished work from 2022.
Punxsutawney Phil may have predicted six more weeks of winter, but that has not stopped us from opening up our baseball and softball registrations for the 2023 summer season. Full details on this summer's baseball, softball, and t-ball programs can be found on the main page of our website. A full listing of all City of Highland Heights Recreation Programs can be found in our Summer Sizzler, which will be arriving in resident mailboxes the second week of March and available to view on the city website.
Be on the lookout for both of these informative publications and to read about all of the great things happening in our community.
