Pump Gun Shoot
March 11th
The Pump Gun was designed and introduced in 1893 by John Browning, and had revolutionary features, style & handling abilities.
This year we had a great turn out of shooters! The use and enjoyment of the good ole Pump Gun is still going strong.

Lorne Howes Memorial Shoot for Cancer Research March 25th
Lorne’s family and friends, have banded together for 33 years to carry forward and celebrate the life of Lorne Howes.
He passed away of Leukemia at the age of 30. He was a life long, best friend of owners of Silver Willow, Don and Gwen Day.
Randy Howes (left) & Don Day (right) with Jason DeJong (center) our winner of this year's Lorne Howes Shoot with a HOA of 90/100. Jason tied with Scott Price, Jason won by default. A shoot off will take place at a later date. The cooler was donated by Highway 9 Trucking.
We would like to thank all the shooters who participated this year. It was a sold out event!! $30.00 of each registration fee was donated to the Alberta Cancer Foundation in Lorne's name. We raised $2800.00 in total donations from the competing shooters. Thank you to all our local businesses, client business owners who donated prizes and those who so generously donated extra cash. These contributions make the Lorne Howes Cancer shoot such a successful and fun event!! Thanks again to all those who participated.

Blog Article - Luther Cutts

AUTHOR: LUTHER CUTTS, HEAD INSTRUCTOR (NSCA LEVEL 3), COMPETITOR
Shotguns can be found in a bewildering range of types, designs, sizes and prices. In this installment, we will examine the various types of shotguns commonly encountered in Canada.
All shotguns found in Canada consist of three fundamental parts – the stock, the action and the barrel. The stock is what we hold onto when using the shotgun, while the action is the part of the shotgun that moves cartridges into position and discharges the shotgun. The barrel is a steel tube that contains the pressure generated by the cartridge and directs the shot stream or slug out of the muzzle.

- Be 18 years or older
- Have at least two years of shotgun shooting experience
- Have taken lessons (2 hours) from Level 2 Instructor or equivalent before the course
