OSPI National Board Facilitator Training
|
|
Are you a NBCT who is interested in operating a National Board support cohort?
To ensure consistency across the state, NBCTs are asked to participate in Facilitator Training prior to hosting a cohort group. Additionally, OSPI will only approve cohorts that are facilitated by trained facilitators. This training hones facilitation knowledge and skills, provides a deeper understanding of the revised National Board process, as well as develops skills in working with adult learners.
This year, training is entirely online and free of charge.
Clock hours are free through OSPI. Facilitator Training will also include a virtual Pre-Training component that is required for all attending the in-person event. The purpose for the Pre-Training is to equip facilitators with a baseline of prior knowledge to avoid the sit-and-get structure and provide more time for discourse among participants during training.
Pre-Registration is now available for Facilitator Training in 2022! Please use this 2022 Facilitator Training Survey Form to provide OSPI your information and interest in attending. Completing this form does not bind you to attend Facilitator Training, nor is payment required. This information will be used for planning purposes this spring and summer. OSPI will be in touch with pre-registrants later this spring with updates on official registration.
For any questions about Facilitator Training, please contact Steven Mueller.

Encouraging Dis-Comfort by Jan Kragen
|
|
"I think we need to turn that around and institute wait time on our end too. When students ask questions, we need to have a wait time before we start to provide answers. Sometimes we need to direct them to find the answers on their own. (Of course, we also need to teach them how to research well.)"

Gifted Parents by Jan Kragen

"He said that his family didn’t have money for skating lessons when he was a kid. So his mom took him to occasional lessons. While he worked with the coach, she took copious notes, and—between lessons—she was the one who coached him, using what she had learned at the last lesson."
