Dear Friends,

As we enter the beautiful season of spring, I think of all the things that begin to transition during this time of year. The dreary skies of winter become the bright blue skies of spring. The brown and lifeless gardens become an explosion of color and fragrances. The thrill of spring fever is in the air. Here at Pickering Manor, we are in the midst of transitioning from a world of Covid and restrictions to an easing and even elimination of those Covid restrictions.

As we welcome more residents and their families to our community, we are feeling a sense of renewal here at Pickering Manor. Old traditions are reborn and new traditions are created. Our new residents bring new energy and memories to share with each other. We are proud to be a preferred partner with St. Mary’s hospital, and more people are choosing Pickering for their Rehab needs. We continue to maintain our 5-star rating from CMS and the high level of satisfaction from our residents and their families.

We are in the process of transitioning the Manor, where Mr. Pickering lived, into a gathering and dining space for our cottage residents to enjoy! We thank those of you in the community for supporting this endeavor through our year-end fundraising appeal. The enhancements and amenities for this social space were thoughtfully planned out using recommendations from our cottage residents.

Our Memory Care neighborhood residents are looking forward to their first spring and the fresh air that will greet them in their garden. There is much need for Memory Care, and the interest in our neighborhood is high. Also, our Personal Care neighborhood residents are eagerly awaiting the renewal of their outdoor dining area and gardens.

So, if you or a loved one is looking to make that transition to a more carefree, safe, and secure environment, please keep Pickering Manor in mind and come in for a tour or attend our Open House for Personal Care and the Cottages on April 30. We hope you have a beautiful spring season of renewal and don’t forget to purchase a raffle ticket for a chance of either a new car or $25,000 by participating in our 10th Annual Pickering Manor Car Raffle.
