Assemblyman donates COVID tests to library
Many thanks to Assemblyman Brian Miller’s office for their donation of two cases of COVID rapid test kits! Patrons are welcome to pick up two test kits per person while supplies last.

Assemblyman Miller has been supportive of Wallkill Public Library throughout the pandemic and before. He personally delivered free hand sanitizer to the library back in the days when it was difficult to find the product in stores. We appreciate the help and continued support of his office!
Library receives Stewart’s Shops grant
The library has been awarded $650 from Stewart’s Holiday Match program, to be earmarked for this year’s Summer Reading Program!

This year, Stewart’s received 1,741 applications requesting nearly $4 million in support. Because the company only had $2 million to donate, the library is fortunate that we were one of the lucky recipients! The funds will be put toward SRP programming and supplies, with gratitude!

Planning has already begun for this year’s “Oceans of Possibilities”-themed SRP. We can’t wait for you to see the activities and performers we have lined up! Thanks to Stewart’s for making the planning process that much easier with their funding!
Reserve your VOW’s Cow now!
The Vision of Wallkill (VOW) is again selling wooden cow silhouettes for residents and business owners to paint and display around the hamlet.

With a minimum donation of $50 to VOW, participants can reserve a cow. Cows can be picked up between 10 a.m. and noon Saturday, April 9, at Shawangunk Town Hall. Donations must be made at the time the first cow is picked up. The registration form will include the donor’s information and the name of the artist, if different than the donor, as well as where the cow will be displayed.

Cows should be primed, painted, weatherproofed, dried, and ready for display by May 7, and should remain on display through the fall. Artists are invited to bring their cows to the library lawn at 10 a.m. May 7 for a group photo.

For more information or to reserve a cow, text 845-527-6230.
