AV Task Force Starting Soon
Monday, March 27th at 2:30pm
SAKLC has made tremendous progress with our use of Audio/Video (AV) technology. A couple examples: We have high quality streaming of worship services and Christian education classes so that remote attendees may watch live or at any time that's convenient, And we routinely offer hybrid meetings and exercise classes where attendees interact both in person and remotely on zoom.
The Church Council has heard from the Congregation that we should explore what else is possible in the realm of AV technology. Specifically this should focus on further enhancing the engagement and participation of all who attend SAKLC events both in person and remotely. In response to this, the Council is initiating an AV Task Force. If you're interested in learning more about this task force and perhaps helping with the effort, plan to join the upcoming information session, of course, either in person or remotely!

Christian Education Class Series: Eighth-Day Discipleship: A New Vision for Faith, Work & Economics with Richard H. Bliese
Take the Class. Meet the Author.
Grow in Discipleship.
Richard H. Bliese in his book, and in this class, “draws on the historic architecture of eight-sided churches to call attention to an important but often overlooked emphasis on the eighth day of creation. Early Christians were focused on God's new creation that began in Christ's resurrection on Sunday, the first day of the week. But these Christians understood resurrection as the continuation of God's creative and redemptive activity. So the first day of the week became the eighth day of creation, and therefore the day of resurrection work and time to join with Christ in transforming the world. Christian disciples do this work by living out their baptismal vocations, especially in their daily work and through their ethical economic choices.”
When: Tuesdays, for six weeks, February 21-March 28, 2-3:30pm.
Preparation: Purchase and begin to read Richard’s book, ISBN 978-1506478838, available on Amazon.
View our website for more information, to join the livestream via Zoom, and to sign up to attend these classes by clicking the link below or by visiting www.saklc.com/online-christian-education/.

The class discusses the Scripture texts assigned for the forthcoming Sunday worship services. Pr. Ken shares a calendar month of handouts in advance, so that participants can look ahead, and read the comments of Lutheran scholars prior to each session. Refugee Ministry is going well. We have had a request from Lutheran Services of Florida as to whether anyone would be willing to help supplement a mom who needs childcare in order to have a job. The cost is $180 a week for her. It would be fantastic if anyone would like to help defray the cost. We also have a need for more bikes in good condition. If minor repairs are needed, we have someone to provide that service. If you have pumps and helmets, please include those. We will be helping our fifth family this month alone for furnishings, as well as two pregnant ladies with all the things that they need for a newborn baby. Thank you for both your financial help and your donations of material things.
