8th Grade Graduation

The Yorkville 8th Grade Graduation - Class of 2022, is scheduled for Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. in the Yorkville gym. The processional to their seats will begin right away at 7:00 p.m. The ceremony is dignified to represent the importance of accomplishments and transitions. While dignified, the process is blended with a relaxed atmosphere to recognize the differences between an 8th grade graduation, and a high school or college graduation.

The 8th grade teachers will review with the students dress code expectations, the outline of the program, speech preparation, and a few practices will also be held in advance. Immediately following the ceremony, a gathering will be held at the Union Grove Bowling Alley. This is planned and supervised by parent volunteers. Information regarding this event will be forthcoming.

GO RAMS!
Advice from Juniors

We reached out to Union Grove High School Juniors to seek their advice for our soon to be Freshmen. These Juniors all attended Yorkville School, “back in the day.”

Elizebeth “E” Spang - When I graduated from Yorkville I wish I knew how fast time flies. When you’re in 8th grade, all you want to do is graduate and go to high school. Then, when you’re a freshman, all you want is to be a sophomore. My biggest advice is don’t wish away your high school experience, because before you know it, you’ll be a junior too. Enjoy every moment while you’re in it. It’s also important to get involved. Whether it’s band, choir, sports, or clubs, there’s something for everyone and it’s important to find something you like to participate in.

Lila Voge - Don't be afraid to try new things and put yourself out there. A lot of good comes from doing something new!

Mike Luce - Your first day can seem almost unnerving, that's the way it was for me, but with time, and given thought, you will realize that high school isn’t actually so bad, and you can get used to it pretty quickly. (In fact, you only have like 4 classes a day excluding lunch. Compare that to Yorkville, I dare you.) Say hi to Yorkville for me, and to me when you get here.

Josh DeWees - High school is like something familiar, but a bit better in small ways you may not notice until you look deeper into it.

Jack Beyer - Be yourself, you don’t need to “fit in” with others. Have fun, high school goes by quicker than you think. Join any sports, groups, teams and other things that interest you, you won’t regret it.
