Focus: Repentance…Who likes to think about repentance? It brings up conflict within us. We are sorry for what we did do and we regret what we did not do. It is troubling to look at ourselves clearly. Lent is a time for remembering these things and offering them up to God in prayer. If we believe the power of forgiveness in the cross, then God is the one that forgives. Our sin may seem impossible, but God can handle what we bring to Him. Let Jesus release our burden.
Prayer: Most precious Lord, the forgiver of our sins, we come to you today to ask for forgiveness. We are truly sorry for having sinned against you. We are trapped in our sin and have no way out but You. We thank you for our pardon. We do not have the words to express our gratitude. Our desire is to love and serve you. Amen
Read: Luke 18:27 NLT
Jesus replied, “What is impossible for people is possible with God.”
Meditation: Do you allow God to make a way for you in every sin? Are there some sins that you try to work out yourself? Do you have some “hang around” sin that needs to go to the cross? What will it take to trust and surrender your all to God?
Benediction: “The Lord gives strength to His people; the Lord blesses His people with peace.” (Psalm 29:11)
