Spokane Association of REALTORS®
Introduces New CEO
The Spokane Association of REALTORS® (SAR), today, announces its new CEO who is Tiffany Claxton, RCE, AHWD, C2EX, E-PRO (pictured).

Claxton is most recently CEO of the Kitsap County Association of REALTORS® (KCAR), based in Silverdale, WA.

KCAR has about 700 members; SAR has about 2,600 members.

Claxton will begin her job in Spokane on September 19th.

“The board’s choice will position our association and its members for growth as we navigate a local housing shortage,” says Eric Etzel, 2022 SAR president, speaking for the board today.

“The challenges we see in the local housing market right now are ours to meet. Good leadership helps us see and respond to these opportunities as we help promote housing availability and accessibility for all our residents and those who choose Spokane as their home.”

Welcome, Tiffany! We look forward to meeting you and working with you here in Spokane!
This five-minute video was played at the quarterly membership meeting this week. In it, our new CEO introduces herself and speaks briefly about her plans to work with leadership and staff to take our association into the future.

I always meet someone new or someone I wanted to meet at these events. Fun time and great job SAR friends!

Spencer Ladd, member.

Members enjoyed a third and final Taco Tuesday event for the year, this week.

The Membership committee, chaired by Keri McCombs, planned and delivered these events to give members a post-pandemic boost and social mixing opportunity - also an opportunity to meet association leadership and see the association offices since the building was closed for nearly two years by government order.

Sign up for the Membership committee, or other committee that suits your interest, when sign-ups begin in the fall.

There's something for everyone in your association, some fun, some serious, all valuable opportunities to get to know your fellow members and create lasting experiences in your career as a REALTOR®.

Legal Hotline:
Did Buyer Broker Waive
Buyer's Inspection Contingency
by Including a Copy of (Blank)?
In today's Legal Hotline, Annie Fitzsimmons (WR's Legal Hotline lawyer) answers a question she's been receiving more and more frequently...

Did the Buyer Broker waive the Buyer's Inspection Contingency by providing a copy of (blank)?

The "blank" could be a number of things, such as, the Inspection Report as a whole, a copy of a page from the Inspection Report, or even a Roof Inspector's Report... each example being information that should not be provided to the Listing Broker or the Seller.

Watch for Annie's explanation of why this is important along with what you can provide.

The video runs about six minutes.
