Dear Katie,

I hope this month's enewsletter finds you very well. We are enjoying our "slower" season here at MCUM, although, slow is relative.

This month, my daughter Hazel, along with about 25 others, graduated from the Compass Early Learning Center. They will all be off to kindergarten in the fall! Speaking as a parent, I must share that I am beyond grateful to all of the teachers Hazel has learned from over her four years at Compass, as well as the kitchen team, and Brittney and Stacy as directors. I am confident that other caregivers with kids leaving the program feel the same way. Because of the amazing start Hazel has gotten to her education, I know she is prepared socially and cognitively for "big school," though, I cannot say I am emotionally prepared.

I am pleased to report that our Spring Campaign exceeded its $50,000 goal by adding just upward of $53,000 to our operations between March 1 and April 30. Thank you to everyone who helped make that possible.

Please enjoy the newsletter and I look forward to connecting.

Megan's Path

Meet Megan, a shining example of resilience and determination. As a single mom facing domestic violence and divorce, Megan found herself in crisis mode. But with the support of the Monroe County United Ministries Your Path Program, she embarked on a transformative journey.

Through ten meetings with her mobility mentor, Megan went from overwhelmed to empowered, paving a path to prosperity for herself and her daughter. With newfound confidence and financial literacy skills, she established a savings account for her daughter's future and took control of her finances.

The Race is On

Help us cross the finish line & feed Monroe County families this race season! Starting May 18th, help us Race to 500 by collecting 500 of our most needed items to stock our client-choice food pantry. This is the perfect service project for your family, club, congregation, or organization. And we can help you make it fun!

We have some heavy hitters already gearing up to collect some items: Tri Kappa (helper meals), Woodhaven Church (Ramen), Rotary (Cereal, Crackers), University Baptist (mixed vegetables), and American Legion (Mac & Cheese). Stay tuned in the coming weeks as we feature our racers on their journeys!
