Music Ministry Kickoff
Wednesday, August 24
Please join us on Wednesday, August 24 for fellowship, food, and to preview music for the upcoming season. The fall is a great time to jump into choir, orchestra, or band as we begin to prepare for the Advent season in December! We will be learning new contemporary music alongside the classics, such as Bach and Handel. All ages are welcome.

Options include orchestra, band, and choirs (children, youth, adult), as well as smaller vocal and instrumental ensembles. For orchestra, adult choir, and band, please schedule an audition. These informal auditions give Pastor Nathan George an opportunity to get to meet you, to get to know you, your heart, and your musical interests. Auditions are not necessary or needed to attend the kickoff.

In addition, youth choirs will begin meeting again beginning August 28. The youth choir for grades 8th-12th and the children’s choir for ages 3rd-7th will meet on Sundays from 4:40 pm – 5:45 pm. The beginner’s choir for grades kindergarten – 2nd will meet on Sundays during evening worship in the Community Life Center Chapel (CLC).

Please email Liz McNulty at lmcnulty@christcovenant.org for more information or to schedule an audition for the adult choir, orchestra, or band. Click here to sign up to bring a potluck dish.

Volunteers Needed for HisAbilities Respite Night
Register by August 31
Christ Covenant’s HisAbilities ministry needs volunteers for our upcoming fall Respite Night on October 8. This is an opportunity to come alongside Christ Covenant families impacted by disability by providing a few hours of respite for parents while their children are cared for and engaged by a team of volunteers providing a safe environment with a variety of fun activities! Volunteers must be a member of Christ Covenant, but no experience with disabilities is needed to serve.

Respite Night serves parents with children impacted by disabilities or who are living with disability themselves and will be held on October 8, from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm, in the youth area located in the lower level of Community Life Center (CLC). Training resources including a brief zoom video will be provided to our volunteers. We work to make sure our volunteers are serving in a capacity in which they are comfortable. If you would like to serve or learn more about this opportunity, please email Amy Van Dusen at avandusen@christcovenant.org. Deadline for volunteer registration is August 31.

Prayer for our Covenant Children
Sunday Evening, September 11
The pastors and elders of Christ Covenant Church hope you will join us for a special time of prayer for all our children and college students. This special time of prayer will take place at the beginning of the Sunday evening worship service on September 11. We invite you to pick up and fill out a prayer card and present it to the elders during this time of prayer.
During the school year, our leadership will refer to these cards often as they pray for children, students, and their parents. As always, each request will be handled confidentially.
Prayer cards can be found in the worship center outside all sanctuary doors.

Volunteers Needed for Children’s Ministry
Did you know it takes 238 adults and 48 youth for our Children’s Ministry classrooms to be fully staffed? Right now we are about 80% there! If you were considering how you might fulfill the promise you make at every baptism and find a way to help support our families as they raise their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, we have a place for you to do that! Please email Amy Wallace, Director of Children’s Ministry, at awallace@christcovenant.org, or stop by the Children’s Ministry Welcome Desk in the North Lobby. Any staff member will be happy to help you get connected!
Envision Capital Campaign
We are hoping to have 100% of the congregation participate in the Envision capital campaign. We are currently at 76%. It’s not too late to turn in your pledge card for the Envision capital campaign! Pledge cards and information about the many upgrades and changes we hope to accomplish through Envision can be found in the brochures and booklets in the worship center and online. You can also make a pledge online at christcovenant.org/envision. We currently have 76% of families participating and $1,108,215 pledges toward our goal of $1,500,000.
