Pull the Plug on Pueblo Unit 3
It's always a good time to close a coal plant, but now is especially good! Pueblo Unit 3 has been broken since late January and the earliest it would be back up is June; it shouldn't be back up at all. It's the most expensive electricity in Xcel's fleet and Xcel itself has said it's not needed for reliability. Two out of the three PUC commissioners don't see any reason to keep it going past 2029.
Please choose one of the groups below to write to and join nonprofits and cities across Colorado calling for Pueblo Unit 3's closure. We have attention and momentum now so let's make the most of it!
PUC (choose Public Service Company of Colorado and then 21A-0141E)
